(Sorry...a months worth of pictures in one day!)

Today we decided to check out Hyrum Reservoir. It's so close- I can't believe we have never been!! 

The kids loved it. If we had been prepared with lunch and not just snacks, they probably could have stayed all day. 

Technically not a 2 seater kayak, but works for Jay! lol

Camping

A few weeks ago Kevin and I went mountain biking and found this great camping spot between 2nd and 3rd dams up Logan canyon. And it's a free and right along Logan River! Over Father's Day weekend we decided to check it out and had a great time!

 We haven't been camping since our dreaded VERY WET trip we took last June! And Arianna kept asking if it was going to rain lol, so it must have been just as memorable for them! See the river right next to the campsite? So cool 

Jay spent a lot of time playing in the tent since he is very afraid of campfires (and dogs, and bugs, and water...what else!?) 

 We also brought our bikes

 and rode a few times to 3rd dam and SpringHallow campgrounds just for fun

 Hailey saw me taking this picture with Arianna posing her usual pose and had this fabulous idea to get behind her so that it would look like she was being held in Ari's hand. She is soooo creative! Turned out pretty cute! :)

 I love camp cooking, but we usually cheat and use a propane type of cooking with a griddle, grill, etc. This time we did everything on the fire. We had fried chicken and biscuits for dinner and breakfast burritos in the morning! Soooo yummy!

 In the morning after breakfast we hiked a short 1 1/2 miles to 2nd dam to feed ducks and have lunch.

All in all it was a great camp trip! We need to average more than once a year, that's for sure!

Randomness

Oh this girl...She's something else! lol

 This first month of summer we have spent lots of time enjoying our grass in the front yard, swimming and splashing around in the backyard, digging in our sandbox, taking swimming lessons, playing at the pool, getting our garden planted, and spending lots of time in nature.

 We live in one of the most beautiful places ever, and I wanted to make a goal to go hiking or get up to the mountains once a week. This particular day we walked the Logan River Trail and I printed off a little scavenger hunt onto bags so they could collect things. They thought it was pretty fun

 When I heard about a lego robotics camp for 4th grade and up, I knew Scott would go crazy for it. Of course it filled up in the first 5 minutes, but after continually checking the site I must have nabbed up someone's spot who cancelled and he got in! It was every day this last week for 3 hours! I was worried about if they made it fun because 3 hours is a long time, but let me tell you- this kid LOVED IT!!!

Scott is very relaxed and laid back...he doesn't talk a whole lot either, but every day when I picked him up he was bouncing up and down in his seat and couldn't stop talking. Especially the first day he was going on and "Mom! Do you even realize how expensive these parts are? And there are like 20 groups!" I told him that's the benefit of a college because they get a lot of grants and things to buy cool stuff to learn on ;)

They invited the parents on one of the days to come see the progress. They had a little obstacle course to test on, and then they would go back to the computer to tweak their programming to make it better.

 Very Cool! I'm afraid Christmas just got a lot more expensive! haha

Front Yard is Finished at Last!

This month is we have been in our house for 3 years, and FINALLY we have finished the front yard! Yippee! 

Below is the "before" picture. It had sprinklers and weeds...but a ton of the sprinklers had to be replaced/design changed, and the only way to get rid of the weeds was to kill the entire yard and start over.

4 trees, sod, mulch, landscape rocks and lots of shrubs later. All that's left is burying the drip on the park strip and finishing that left bottom corner with some concrete so that the kids can ride their toys off- the sidewalk just ends there normally.

Remember all those rocks that came out of the yard? Kevin made a little rock river in the park strip...cuts out water usage and also reminds us of ALL the hard work we did! ha

I think the best compliment we got was a gal who said she just loved our yard and her yard would look that nice, but they didn't pay anybody- they did it themselves. I told her Kevin and I did it ourselves too and she couldn't believe it. Lots and lots of sweat and boring weekends that's for sure!, but we are very happy it's done! (Don't ask about the backyard!)

 The kids and I had a fun day spoiling him with decorations, an embarrassing balloon bouquet and candy at work of course, a lunch and all that

 I taught the kids this little game we use to play growing up that goes like this "Hang over, hang over, thy poor head...whatcha gonna do with a bump on your head?" and then they guess what they will do with it like play with it, eat it, wear it, etc. He only got one wrong and it was the heavy one so Scott got to bump him on the head lol

 It was Scott's idea to get him a quad-copter so I found a pretty fun one online that takes pictures and video. It's been really fun getting areal shots of our newly done yard, and a fun video of it getting caught in a tree haha

One of these days I will have to spoil him with a fishing trip or something, but for now he will have to settle with a quad copter and some money to work on his Scout truck lol ;)

We are officially in the 2nd week of summer break. We have been swimming at the pool, hanging out outside, splashing in the kiddy pool, going to library events, splash pad and of course dressing our little brother up like a sweet baby doll.

 These pictures of Jay are a crack up (and I should mention I think we had my 4 plus 7 of the neighborhood kids all trying to get in our kiddy pool! I had to grab my neighbors and fill it up too so at least we could have a big kids and little kids pool.

 He has so much personality and is just a blast to have in our family!!

 Laying around watching Wild Kratts, always a nice way to get out of the sun. Jay just climbs up on anybody, but especially his big brother Scott. He loves to be with him and cuddle him
