October Fun

Oh my goodness it's been too long since I've updated! Jay's totally going to bust me in his cop get-up lol

I had the chance to hang out with my friend Sarra while Scott and his friend were in Provo at a merit badge clinic. We got to do some hiking and then to see Bridal Veil Falls. I love this girl so much! They moved their family to Utah from Missouri this past summer and it's been awesome to get to see her more!

I also took the kids to Vegas during our Fall Break we get every year. It was so awesome to get out of the cold weather and go visit Grandma and Grandpa in warm country! My mom and I decided to take the kids hiking and we had SO much fun! There's a little area just before Red Rock that isn't as crowded and super fun to explore. It's definitely going to be a tradition

Even though Scott was making me super nervous showing off his climbing skills! I circled him in this picture and you can see my mom on the right bottom and the girls down on the left bottom...yikes! My Dad saw this picture and was like, "Where were you!" He totally freaked when I told him I took the picture because that obviously meant I was no where near him! haha

There is just something to be said about letting your kids explore un-tethered out in nature. Jay was loving it

We also took the kids down to see the Ballagio Botanical gardens because my kids have never seen it. 

And then Grandma showed us a super cool arcade place that has a hundred different old pinball machines. That was a winner for sure! So fun!

Grandpa spoiled the boys and took them to supercross. Can you tell Scott was in heaven?

They had so much fun! And Jay and Kellan totally passed out on the way home

While the boys were doing that, the girls went out to dinner and did a little shopping

And then back to Grandma's where Grandma got into her cedar chest and let the girls go through her things and try on her cheerleading outfits from when she was in highschool. Highschool people! These fit her in highschool, we couldn't believe it!! 

We didn't stop there though. Grandma let each of the girls try on her wedding dress too! It was definitely a fun girls night!

Always so nice to go home for a visit. I especially loved just sitting outside in the warm sun talking with my mom, and of course getting to visit with my sister Candice as well! So fun!

Jay turned 7!

Jay turned 7!!

This kid is such a cutie pie! The other day he was in the kitchen staring at himself in the reflection of a big pan I had out drying. He was doing all his suave smolders and I said something to him. His reply was, "What? I just can't stop looking at my cute self" Oh my goodness I am in trouble :) We'll work on humility, but for a first grader it's great to have confidence! :)

 He asked for a warm cozy hoodie and some legos for his birthday. I let him open the hoodie in the morning so he could wear it to school

 After school I let him take 2 of his best friends to the Build a Bear Workshop. 

They all three wanted to have matching puppies. It's been pretty cute watching them play with them around the neighborhood. They had a blast

Jay wanted Dominos pizza for dinner, not those "other" kinds. It had to be dominos. Then it was time for presents, cake and icecream

I love my kids facial reactions opening their birthday presents. They are my favorite!

All the kids favorite part of their birthday...when they get to stay up an extra hour past bedtime and play with their new things. He got straight to work on legos of course.

Jay is such a sweetheart. I was just telling him how much I miss him now that he is in 1st grade all day. He's my little cuddle bug and I miss his hugs throughout the day. And he misses getting to eat out with me for lunch. lol. Jay is a social little bug and loves making new friends. He's a friend to everyone. He also has a really tender heart like his Daddy. He's still obsessed with legos and is always begging for more even though we have WAY too many in our house. He's a little wiz with putting stuff together just like Scott. He also loves being outside and riding his bike and doing all the big kid things. He is a constant ball of energy and it's still not uncommon to find him passed  out somewhere. If it's past 6 pm and he stops for 1 minute, he will pass out it's just a fact. He goes and goes and goes so the second he stops he crashes. Jay has really impressed me this year with how much he's grown spiritually. His prayers are so sweet, tender and genuine. It melts my heart. We are so happy he's our little caboose. Love him to pieces!
