We were so excited to get to spend Christmas in Las Vegas this year, because all my sisters and their husbands were there and it's been 3 years since we've gone!

These were the grand kids' pajamas that matched and said, "What Santa won't bring me Grandma will"

Kevin and I decided to forgo presents this year to go big with Santa gifts. Santa brought Scott a John Deere tractor and Hailey a little beauty salon. My mom got a new tree this year too and it was beautiful! (Before you judge on the amount of presents under the tree, remember there were 13 people here! :)

Scott was so excited about this truck. He said, "I had no idea Santa knew everything I wanted for Christmas!" He even got a lock/key set and flashlight in his stocking which were the 2 other things on his list. The best part about it is that it's a 2 seater, so Hailey gets to enjoy too!

The other best part is that it has a dump bed to put all of his stuff in (Scott loves to collect things)

Scott got the cutest Curious George hide and seek game from Grandma and in the middle of the game the walkie talkie will say "The animals have escaped!" and everyone has to put on a animal mask and hide. Hailey wouldn't take off her panda mask...too cute!

It's been such a long time since we've all gotten together, and it's just been really fun to hang out and spend time together as a family

32 weeks pregnant and feeling like I can't possibly get any bigger!

Scott asked Grammy this morning, "Do you have to leave today?" She said yes and he said, "That's too bad. It's too bad you can't stay."
Last night the we got to open up presents from Grammy so she could watch the kids.

Kevin's brother Chris and his wife Brittney had us this year for Christmas. Aunt Brittney made Hailey this doll and matching pajamas so that they could look alike! (Can you believe she made this doll! So talented!)

Kids say the strangest things....

Yesterday Scott launched himself off the couch and landed on his head. I said, "Scott you could have broken your neck!" and he said, "I didn't" and I said, "Well, you are just too precious and cute to me. I don't want anything to happen to that cute little head of yours."

His reply, "But I want a new head!... a taller one!"

Scott turned 4 today!

He asked for a dinosaur cake- so here it is! (Kevin had to help me...he has a lot more patience)

Grammy Riggs came to visit and took Scott out to a birthday lunch. While we were there Aunt Brooke surprised him too! Grammy got him a nerf gun with a floating target. He loved it!

It was so much fun to watch him open his presents because he was so excited this year. He even let Hailey help. He would say, "Here Hailey! Start on this one!"

Scott is such a creative thinker. He loves to do anything that he has to put together himself, especially if it involves tools. He started preschool this year and has been having so much fun meeting new friends and learning new things. His preschool teacher says he concentrates really hard on the things she teaches. He knows all of his colors and shapes and has started to write his name. Sometimes he forgets to write an "S" and sometimes he adds an extra "t", but we are so proud of him! He also loves to dance to music and play on keyboards and guitars. He LOVES when dad gets out his guitar to play, and can't wait to learn himself. Scott is so independent and has been from the day he was born! He's such a big helper around the house. He's always saying, "Oh mom I can do that" and "Mom, let me help you do that"

He is way into dinosaurs right now, and can name all the dinosaurs if you show him a picture. In fact as I was trying to read the pronunciation on the book we got from the library, he corrected me and said, "Its called a pteranodon mom!" Scott is such a blessing to have in our family! We love you Scott! Happy Birthday!

Hailey moved into Scott's old room and her new "big girl" room is finally ready!

I had an idea for a headboard in my mind and couldn't find one at any store, so Kevin built one exactly how I wanted it (I love him!)
This was a dresser we found at a garage sale when Scott was born. It's solid wood, and we painted it blue for Scott. I sanded down the blue paint this time only to find 3 more colors underneath. It was quite the project! Then Kevin put a fancier top on it to make it look more feminine, painted it white, and viaola. Anyone know where to find cute knobs or pulls?
This bookshelf was another garage sale find we've had since we got married. Kevin sanded it down and painted it. Aren't these flowers adorable?

You can't see but I bought 3 hot pink tin buckets to put her toys in and one big one to put her blocks in sitting next to the bookshelf

So now I'm just hunting for cute stuff to hang on the walls along with some shelves Kevin painted and the perfect knobs for her dresser.

Baby It's Cold Outside!
It has been like -15 every night last week. Usually when Kevin goes to work in the morning it's warmed up to around 5 degrees outside, and the kids are definitely feeling it! They sit on the heater vents to warm up.

This weekend we finally we got a really huge snow storm which is awesome because it brings the temps up to the twenties I rolled my eyes at Kevin when he bought this snow blower from D.I. last year for $15 bucks, but like everything else-he fixed it and it works like new. He's been loving it. I'm sure our neighbors have too since we live on a corner lot and our sidewalks have never been clear until now! Instead of taking an hour to clear just the driveway, it takes about 30 minutes to do the driveway and all the sidewalks. I told Kevin the only problem now is that he will never go back to shoveling, and we both know the D.I. snow blower isn't going to last forever! Scott has been so excited about all of the Christmas festivities this year, and was psyched to see Santa on Saturday. Santa came out saying "Ho Ho Ho" with his bells jingling, and Hailey ran 60 mph screaming to me. She's not quite ready, but neither was Scott when he was 2. So he told me beforehand he was going to ask Santa for a flashlight and a real car with keys. So what does he tell Santa he wants? A pink tricycle. He was nervous. I told him that's okay, we can write him a letter. I'm telling you though, we are going to have quite the time with Scott. He's only 4 and he's already asking way too many questions. Like, "How did Santa get here? If he rode his sleigh where did he park it? How come I can't see it up on the roof?" etc. etc. Oh boyI forgot to mention on Hailey's birthday post what her favorite thing to eat in the whole entire world is....

Tomato Soup! Isn't that funny? She'll even pass up chocolate for tomato soup. Also on her favorite list is any green vegetable- salads, green beans, and peas. I wish she would pass some of that onto Scott!
Scott constantly wants to borrow my camera because he loves taking pictures. Hailey smiles better for him than she does for me!
