Hailey's Picture Day

I can't believe Hailey is already 8 1/2 months old! She is the happiest baby and has the funnest personality! We love her to pieces!

Scott's buddy Spencer came by the house and picked him up in his jeep. They were riding all over the subdivision together...it was the cutest thing ever! These two boys are inseparable in nursery, so we decided we need to get them together more often.

This was my best attempt at a picture of Scott- he's been camera shy lately...

Happy Birthday MOM!

We went on a quick road trip this past weekend. My mom is turning the big 50 tomorrow! My parents were going to Idaho for the Twin Falls open house this weekend, so we decided to invite her family and get together for a small surprise party in Twin! My grandparents, my mom's sister and some of her brothers all met us at a restaurant overlooking the bridge in Twin Falls. It was really fun and my mom was really surprised!Her actual birthday is the 20th and we will all be keeping her in our prayers since her only birthday wish was to go sky diving! Ahh!! My dad (who hates to even fly by the way) is going with her on their sky diving adventure tomorrow! What can I say-My mom isn't like most moms!

After the we all got to go through the LDS Twin Falls temple for the open house and it was a really neat experience to have our entire family and their spouses there together. For some of them this was their first time in a temple and so it was really awesome!

I LOVE the Idaho house. It is so beautiful there! You could just sit outside all day long and listen to the birds chirping, etc. I just love it! Plus the fruit was in bloom so we got to pick apples, peaches and grapes out of their orchard. It was awesome. Scott could live on peaches if he had to.

Kevin, Rick and my dad drove to Twin Falls and kayaked down the river. It was about a 3 1/2 hour trail that took them right up to the bridge.

Here's Hailey enjoying her licorice. She loves the water. She was sitting in the grass letting me spray her with the hose and loved it. If I even get a splash on Scott's arm he cries...Hailey doesn't mind one bit-she's a fish.

Kevin and I also got to take a smaller kayak trip down the river next to Thousand Springs in Buhl Idaho. It was beautiful! Scott was along side of us on the canoe with my mom and dad.

I had to include a picture of an alligator. Scott loves alligators and his favorite book is "There's an alligator under my bed" and Candice brought it for him this trip. There is an actual alligator farm just 10 minutes from the house that Kevin took him to, and then he read him the book before bed. I'm surprised he didn't have any nightmares! Yikes!

Newport California

We are back from our wonderful trip to Newport California. The week went by way too fast! We drove the full 12 hours on Friday and it actually went fairly good. Scott is always a trooper to travel with, but Hailey had her moments of boredom in her confined car seat. We even had time to play a few rounds of the ultimate alphabet game. It was actually a fun drive! It was so great to have my entire family together. Us girls didn't really care what we did, we were just glad to have our significant others there with us! (They all work long hours!)

We stay right above Crystal Cove State Park which is a protected beach with beautiful trails and renovated beach houses. Saturday and Sunday we rode our bikes down to the lookout point and rode along the ocean on the sand. We also spent some time just swimming in the pool and played in the courtyards throwing footballs and all that fun stuff This is one my mom got of Hailey in the room- she is such a crack up!

This is Chris and Scott at the pool...I guess Scott was asking him "Why do the girls wear shirts but the boys don't?" Chris creatively answered "Because boys have muscles and they like to show them off" I thought that was a great answer! Haha

My parents watched the kiddies while Kev and I went out to eat and walked around the beach...a date with my hubby is always nice!
Probably the funnest day for both Kevin and I was just relaxing at Newport Beach on Monday. We brought all the bikes to ride on the trails, and also played in the water a little.

but once Scott figured out he was sitting in the world's largest sandbox, he was having a blast!

On Tuesday morning we rode the bikes down to Crystal Cove again. Later that night we went to dinner on Laguna Beach and walked along the beach and through the shops. Here I am holding Mia...she could totally pass as mine with her dark hair!

Wednesday we took family pictures and then headed out to the beach again. Bre and Wally came with us and brought their surfboards. Kevin was excited to get back on a surfboard and it brought back memories of living in Florida. Here's a pic of my dad heading out with Wally.

Scott had so much fun building sand castles with Aunt Bre...it's all he talked about the rest of the day. He also had fun helping grandma bury grandpa!

Thursday we ate breakfast with my mom, Bre and Wally at a renovated beach house on Crystal Cove and then spent most of our last day playing in the pool.
We decided to just do something just myself, Kevin and the kids so we went out to dinner and then drove to Balboa Island. Scott was having so much fun watching the sail boats. He said to me, "why do the boats have these ropes?" I said, "I don't know Scott, what do you think?" He was so cute just thinking for a few minutes, "Well... well..." and then he told me they have to be tied up so they don't blow away. Then he said, "Look dad! There are 2 pulleys!" and continued to tell us how the pulley is what you use to pull the boat in with the rope. I tell you- this kid is sooo mechanically minded! It cracks me up!
We went for a walk and decided it would be fun to take the ferry across to Newport, so this is Scott not smiling for the camera...

Scott rode the merry-go-round and then we took the ferry back, walked 15 minutes back to the car and got back after bedtime, but it was definitely worth it and a great way to spend our last night in California.
We headed home on Friday, but unfortunately the kids remembered the 12 hour drive there and weren't too excited so we stopped at grandma and grandpa's to get lots of energy out, swim in the pool and then we put them to bed and let them sleep in the car on the way home! I was shocked that they both slept the entire way! It was a much needed and very fun vacation that ended way too fast!
