We went to the beautiful Colorado for a few days for the kids and I to spend time with Kevin's mom while Kevin, his dad, and his brothers went hunting.

They've been planning the trip for probably a year now, but since work was crazy Kevin only got about 3 days of the 7 to hunt. Here's my mountain man- what a stud!

Chris and Carson both have broncos, so they used their 4 wheeling skills to get places. Here's Chris and his bronco Here's an elk that isn't worried- He's on private property! After a week they ended up filling 2 of the 4 tags- not bad

While dad was hunting, we spent time with Grammy

Hailey and Amanda are only 3 months apart. Look how sweet this picture is! (because we all know sharing is rare)

We took the kids to a place called Mr. Biggs- it was so cool! They had different rooms for the kids to play, dress up, and imagine in. The kids had a blast

Scott thought the auto shop was pretty cool. They had a workshop filled with tools for him to work on his car

Grammy took us to her friend Allyson's Halloween party and the kids got to dress up in their costumes. (they took them all off by the end of the night) Here's Hailey checking out some of the little Halloween trinkets. This entire house was decked out top to bottom in Halloween decorations. The boys got back on Sunday and Sunday night Kevin's dad, mom, brothers and wives and all the kids got together. Hailey loved jumping on this little trampoline- Uncle Chris was helping

Kevin had my camera or I would have taken more pictures of the cousins together. I do have a little video of the 3 of them dancing at Grammy's house though...

It was a quick trip, but so great for the kids to spend time with Grammy and let Kevin have some guy time with his dad and brothers.

Recent Happenings...

Scott is finished with his Fall indoor soccer. He had a blast playing, but said he already played 16 games (really they only had 8) and he's ready to be done until Spring.

We have made sugar cookies twice this month and devoured them! I finally found a dairy free recipe that tastes wonderful! Plus it doesn't make a zillion, so you don't feel bad eating them all in a day :) If you want the recipe- here's the link to them on my dairy free cooking blog
One trick I learned especially since I've been way too worried about germs this year, is to give each kid their own shape to make, frost and eat. That way everybody can have their own germs- haha!
We finally had a few sunny days and took advantage of them!

I told Kevin having a third child will be a piece of cake because it will be one less than I've been use to for the past 5 months.

Scott is 1 month older than the oldest boy, and Hailey is 5 months older than the younger one. It really is like having 2 sets of twins. Crazy! :)

Speaking of crazy...

Scott picked out these cute decors for his pumpkin at Walmart. We still haven't carved the rest of them. I can't believe October is over in 2 weeks!

Out of the mouth of Scott this week:

Scott was wanting Hailey to give him a turn on her alphabet train and he told her it was his toy and to give him a turn. I said, "Actually Scott it is hers. She got it for Christmas. Do you share all of your toys?" He shook his head yes over and over and I said, "Oh yeah...even your Handy Manny tools?" and he said, "mmm... not quite"

For family night last night we decided to go to a "Farmtastic Fall Festival" that they have here. It's at the same place we went to the "Baby Animal Days" at in the springtime. The best part about it was that after a few days they decided to stop charging for the rides, so the kids got to do tons of fun stuff!

So last year I took Scott to the baby animal days and after standing in line for 30 minutes to ride the horse, he put on a helmet and then started screaming. This year there was no line and he was ready to go!It is so awesome to have a big brother! Hailey looks up to Scott so much, she didn't even think twice to get on the horse after she saw Scott do it! She was stiff, but at least she did it! :)

Next they got to ride this little barrel train. Again, so nice to have a big brother to ride with!

They also had this cool hay fort that you could climb and jump around on. I was surprised I caught this shot on our old worthless camera! Go Scott!

So the fort had different spots of shredded hay (see above picture) to jump into. Well after climbing about 6 feet on top of these hay bales, Scott decided to jump off. No soft landing though- he landed right onto another bale and ended up with a sore tush.

They had a big corn maze, toddler corn maze and even this little corn maze for tots like Hailey. She thought it was so much fun trying to catch Kevin and I- we would run from her and then she would try to take a path to get to us.

This was officially my first corn maze, although after we decided it was going to get dark before we finished, we turned around and went back. 15 minutes is really all the kids needed to get the experience

After we ate way too much kettle corn by the fire pit, we got to take a ride on this fun little train

and then we took a wagon ride around and that completed our fun family night. The kids had so much fun and Kevin and I loved watching them laugh and smile. It's just too cute. I love getting to do all these fun things as a family. I don't want to wake up one day when the kids are already teenagers and realize that we never did anything fun while they were young! Now Hailey can say she rode a horse before her 2nd birthday and Scott almost broke a leg on a 6 foot hay bale. Good times!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and our baby was a little camera shy!

So I was a little disappointed in our tech because he basically measured all the parts and was going to send us on our way. He asked if I had any questions and I was like, "Ah yeah- can you get us some face shots!" I'm glad I asked because he never turned on the 4D images until I asked to see the face. Even if baby was being camera shy, the pictures are still just as adorable and sweet as ever!
Oh and NO- we didn't find out what it is! I thought I would be going crazy by now to find out, but we already feel so blessed to have a boy and girl, we are just having fun along the ride with this one. (I know, that will definitely change the last month when I am dying to know what it is- hopefully it will push me for an easy delivery!)

Hailey is now in that stage when you tell her to smile she gives you this faceStill I think she looks pretty cute in her new boots and coat (and trust me- she needs them- It's already down to the 50's here during the day!) Despite this cute little exterior, Hailey has been trying my patience for sure lately! She definitely thinks she's boss and must have her way at all times. If not she will let you know she's not happy. (Just like climbing out of the crib and going off to play because she just didn't feel like taking a nap). One of these days I should video tape Kevin attempting to put this little diva into timeout. She hops right off the time out chair and giggles over to him. He tries to keep a straight face while he walks her back to time out and she just looks up at him the entire time with this goofy face because she knows he can't be serious with her- She has him wrapped around her tiny finger. Scott and Hailey have a lot of differences, but I think they have the same basic makeup- strong, independent and stubborn. Even if she's a diva, I wouldn't trade her being independent for anything. Now that Scott is a preschooler I can really see the positive outcomes of that personality trait. So even with the stubbornness, I'll take it! :)
