March Happenings

Here you go Auntie Brooke! I couldn't resist another bum in the air picture! Love it, especially with her ankles crossed underneath.
Here's a hint of a smile! Arianna is sooo happy laying on her changing table next to the window. Anytime she's fussy I just lay her out and open the blinds. She sits there and smiles and coos while she looks out the window- so cute!

The other day I was rocking Ari on the rocking chair and Scott handed her a rattle. She grabbed it from him and he got right in her face with a little pretend grumpy face and said, "Who stole that from me!? Did you steal that from me!?" It was so adorable! He sure knows how to make her smile!

We made these glasses/goggles out of egg cartons and the kids colored them. It was pretty fun! I had to get a picture. Goofy Goobers!

Now that there are 2 girls upstairs (Scott's in the basement) I wanted to redo the bathroom in cute girl colors. Hailey's favorite color is pink, so I found this cute butterfly and ladybug stuff. I told her it was her "big girl" bathroom now that she is fully and completely potty trained (even at night!) She was soooo excited! All day she kept saying, "My OWN bathroom!"

This is Arianna's favorite position to be in...on her tummy with her little legs together and her bum in the air. So cute!

I don't know...as much as she looks like Scott- those look like Hailey's big round eyes to me!Ari has been smiling for about 2 weeks now, but she's very selfish about giving them away....

We had one really sunny day last week and so Ari got to take her first stroller ride...well technically it was her first time being outside!

Scott is a natural. I was in my bathroom and heard Ari fussing. When I came out Scott had her legs lifted up and was patting her bum
I was lying on my back with Arianna on my lap taking pictures and Scott and Hailey came to lay by me. Scott says "Mom, take a family picture"... I thought that was cute

Scott wanted to try out the rock climbing wall they had at the Home and Garden show this weekend. I was so suprised he wanted to try it! (although he doesn't look too excited here) I didn't have my camera, but they were taking pictures and emailing them out of the goodness of their hearts.

He was having so much fun, but when he missed a step and flew out, he was pretty startled. Of course the guy caught him, but when they asked if he wanted a second run he said no without hesitation! I'm so proud of him though- good job Scott!

Hailey is such a diva! She loves to play dress up! For the tom boy that she is, she is still obsessed with pink and loves to walk around in her high heels. I don't think I've ever posted about how much she likes to wrestle Scott. She will tackle him down and then slam her hand on the ground yelling, "One! Two!" ...so funny!

That is Hailey's ultimate favorite thing to do, and no- she won't do it unless she's only in her underwear...something about feeling free I guess. I think her overall goal is to see how high she can kick her legs up once she crashes into the couch. Silly girl!

Not a whole lot has been going on...we still have been keeping Arianna cooped up inside the house just because of flu and rsv season. It's driving me a bit stir crazy as well...so on Saturday I took her shopping all morning and left Scott and Hailey with Kevin. That was her first official outing other than her 2 week checkup and blessing. I figured she would just be tucked away in her car seat and sleep the whole 2 hours and she did. I can't wait to get back to normal and start doing fun things outside with the kids. I think maybe I'll start bring her and Hailey to church Easter Sunday. We've been keeping Hailey inside too because she's growing her toddler molars and has been constantly putting her hands in her mouth (which translates to her constantly being sick if she goes anywhere!)

In my desperate need for things to do indoors with the kids, I remembered something fun we use to do as kids. (Probably because my parents were from Idaho and we had abundant amounts of potatoes) we would make stamps out of potatoes. Just peel them and carve out different shapes and they are perfect size for kids to hold. I'm not that great at carving, but here's Scott's triangle and his letter SThey had a blastIf you think I take a crazy amount of pictures, it's because I have 2 kids that beg me almost daily to take their pictures. Here they are- silly kidsScott has seriously grown another inch this month. I bought all 5 T pants for Christmas (he's only 4!) and when I got him dressed for preschool Monday I noticed that another pair have turned into floods. He's growing like a weed! We can always tell too because all day all I hear is "Mom! I'm hungry!" "Mom my stomach is really starving!" even 5 minutes after he finishes 4 meatballsHailey has been much better with Arianna. I still don't trust her to be alone with her, but she's learning to be gentle. She is always asking, "Where's my baby?" "Can I hold my baby?" She refers to her as her baby. Well last weekend Kevin was holding Arianna and Hailey was wanting to be held. He told her she would have to wait and she got her feelings hurt. Then later that night I asked her if she wanted to hold her baby and she said, "No! Not MY baby, DADDY'S baby!" I felt bad that she was that hurt about it- but it was pretty funnyBefore Kevin and I would take turns putting the kids to bed. One would read to Hailey and one to Scott and then we would switch the next night...well now there's 3 kids and only 2 parents so we've teamed Hailey and Arianna up- which she just LOVESArianna is 5 weeks old today! She is so strong and can almost hold up her head. She loves tummy time too. She has smiled a few times, but you really have to work hard to get her to do it.

Awwh! Sleeping pictures are my FAVORITE! How precious is she!? I love how she holds her little hands on her face because that's how she was in the ultrasound pictures.

Arianna's Blessing

Kevin's Grandaddy all the way from Alabama was visiting in Colorado. When we found out him and Grammy were going to come visit us in Utah we knew we had to bless Arianna because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

I panicked because I wanted to make her a blessing dress like I did for Hailey but I only had 2 weeks to do it-Luckily I finished it!

If you close up on this picture you will see Arianna's little scowl. It's so funny because we all think she looks exactly like Scott and he did the same thing- she has the same little wrinkles between her eyebrows...so funny! Just some pictures of the kids

I love this picture of my dad holding Arianna from Saturday night because when you lay her on her tummy she tucks her legs under and crosses them with her little bum in the air- it's so adorable!

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and to have the gospel in my life and to share this special weekend with them. Kevin bore his testimony about choices on Sunday, and Sunday afternoon Grandaddy was able to track down the missionary who confirmed him a member of the church. (He baptized him in North Carolina and he lives here in our town- how ironic!?) He came over and they had a reunion. I couldn't help but think about choices at that moment too. Because Grandaddy joined the church, look how many generations of his family were blessed. It's just amazing. I am so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and to share the faith and blessings with those around me. Arianna has brought such a sweet peaceful spirit into our home. We are just so blessed!
