I just got back from girls camp Friday! I heart girls' camp! Seriously the best time ever. I love camping and I love my calling as the young women's 1st counselor- so of course it was a blast! I was also called by the stake to be over all the 3rd years, so I had a group of about 39 people I was in charge of. I helped teach them all their certification, took them on an awesome hike, and just had a wonderful week. So thankful to Kevin for working from home this week so that I could take that opportunity to strengthen my testimony and get to know my girls better and be taught by them and their examples.
It was a ton of stress and time leading up to it but it was all worth it in the end ;)

So I got to camp and opened up my bag and found the sweetest thing- letters from Hailey. She wrote me a letter for each day I was gone and labeled them for each day the order to open them. It was the sweetest thing ever. She's such a mama.
Okay now to catch up on our summer thus far!
We have been just enjoying our summer days being lazy, going to the pool, setting up water slides and having lots of laughs.
Laughs are pretty common around here with this girly girl!

Scott had another piano recital a few weeks ago. We totally spaced video-ing it while he was doing it, but we made him get back on the stage once more so we could catch it. He also did a duet with the teacher. He is getting really good- he definitely has the discipline to practice which is more than I can say about Hailey's 3 month stint with piano lessons. lol
And late late nights. Jay is in the process of getting rid of his naps which means he rarely makes it through the day without passing out somewhere. This is how I found him and Hailey one day when I went to check on them downstairs
Speaking of Jay- he has been way into an evil laugh lately. Here he is practicing :)
Scott did a Lego Robotics camp last year so of course he waited all year long to sign up again this summer. He finished the camp on Friday and had a blast!
Just so you can get an idea of what they do- last year they had them go through a maze, and this year they had to program their robots to trap different things and bring them back. Here's a few clips
Both Hailey and Arianna took some art lessons. They teach week camps at the library for only $15 people! For the week camp! So they both did a session of those. Then I signed Hailey up for a plein air class where they go onsite for 2 hours and paint on canvas different scenes. She's technically not old enough but she has a talent for it so they let me sign her up. She painted a great picture of some roses up close and when she got in the car she just bawled and bawled. She was very upset and felt like she didn't do a good enough job even though it really was good! So I decided to sign her up for another session just so she could hopefully end on a happy note. This time it was on a farm, so I picked her up and her teacher went on and on about how beautiful her painting was. She said, "Go see it! She's pretty proud!" This girl has a talent! I am seriously such a proud mama about this one! She's only 8!
And lastly- I got to go down to SLC for a day while my sister Bre was there a few weeks ago. We had a blast doing some shopping, eating out
and of course snapchat filters...too funny. So much fun to see you for a few hours Sis!
