Pretty sad when your child doesn't know what a smore is! He had his first one the other day with non-dairy chocolate chips. He didn't love it but I don't blame him-carob chips just aren't the same! He did have fun watching the marshmallows grow in the microwave though

One of Scott's favorite things to do is have picnics in the park as a family, so that's just what we did since Kevin had the weekend off.Scott has no fear going down this huge slide-hands up and everything!

Superdad! Update on Kev-the orthopedic surgeon said he wanted to do surgery Friday to put a screw in Kevin's kneecap that's currently in 3 pieces, but after Kevin expressed some concerns, we are going to hold off and get it x-rayed again in 2 weeks to see if it improves. Lets hope and pray it does! Here's to 2 more weeks (at least) on crutches

Here is my dear sweet little Hailey loosing her patience with her brother. I thought I had a few more years before the sibling rivalry, but I guess I was wrong. I'm telling you-this girl is going to hold her own! Watch out Scott!

Ladies, don't ever ask your man to start helping you out more around the house or they might scheme up something to get them out of it!

I'm obviously joking and I know Kevin didn't purposely do this to himself! He finally took some buddies up on their continuous offers to ride with them over to Bear Lake and since Kevin's motorcycles weren't in tip top shape yet, we agreed he'd wait for next time. Well that was until unknown to me he decided to go anyway with a friends bullet bike. Big curvy canyon, confident daring (handsome might I add) guy and an extremely fast bike...you do the math. Kevin is a really good rider, I guess these things just happen! He was thankfully wearing full riding gear, but he still dislocated and chipped his kneecap. He has to keep this brace and wear crutches until he meets with the surgeon Tuesday. He also has the biggest bruises I have ever seen on his side, but hey- at least he didn't end up in the E.R. like last time...so really I shouldn't be too mad at him right? I'm so thankful he was protected and watched over!

In other news... Scott and Hailey have finally reached a point of playing well together and it is the cutest thing ever! I love it! The other funny part to this is that Hailey has learned to hold her own. If Scott pushes up against her because he knows it makes her mad, she'll pull his hair. It's pretty funny...

Hailey loves this four wheeler Candice and Rick gave Scott 2 years ago for Christmas. Scott hardly gives her a chance, but she loves to get pushed around. Here's a video-

Watch out! This girl is on a mission! My guess is by mid October she'll be walking!Aunt Kelli got Hailey this shirt that says, "100% sweetness" and it couldn't be more true- we love this girl!
I've been doing a behavior chart with Scott and it is working amazing! He use to argue with everything I said, not share with Hailey, or just ignore me. Now I just say, "Remember Scott we are practicing listening" and he will run right over. I always let him move up a step if he stays in his bed all night and the other morning he woke up and said, "MOM! I slept for 2 years, can I move up to the top!?" It was cute. Today I gave him a kiss on his four head while he was sitting next to me and he looked up at me and said, "Thanks mom." Melt my heart.
Friday morning he told me he wanted pizza for breakfast, so I made a deal with him that we would make it for dinner. It was really fun we made pizza, treats and watched Happy Feet as our family date night. It was so much fun. The movie had a ton of music and every time the music would come on, both Scott and Hailey would dance all over the room together. It was definitely a fun memory.

Then Saturday night we got a babysitter and we were going to go indoor rock climbing, but that was out with Kevin's knee, so we went to dinner and a movie. I have never had a babysitter put the kids to bed because I know how stubborn the both are. Well I thought I'd try it this time and let me tell you- it was soooo peaceful and amazing when we came home! Usually we come home from a date and have to work, but this was so nice. I'm sure we won't do it any other way now.

Fruit and Motorcycles...

One of the best things about where I live is that I'm only one beautiful canyon drive away from the fruit lane in Brigham City. Kevin watched the kids on Thursday and I got to go to all the fruit and vegetable stands- it was amazing! I got some veggies, a bushel of Early Alberta peaches and a case of raspberries. Then the work began...
I still can't believe I only paid $20 and was able to make 24 jars of jam! Plus it tastes so much better than store bought. The only sad part was that I made it by myself when the kids went to bed, and it made me think of my my mom, sisters and I making jam every summer with my grandma! So many memories

I know Scott is in Heaven because last year when my sister gave me some he wouldn't eat any other kind!Early Alberta peaches are the best around. Seriously last year I bought a box and we ate it in a week. I was pregnant with Hailey and ate about 3 a day...No wonder peaches are her favorite! So I guess you aren't suppose to can on glass cook tops, so I went over to my friend Mel's house and we canned 24 (25 really but the glass broke on one!) cans of peaches. She was watching 2 kids for an hour this morning so at one point we had 7 kids running around while we were working. It was actually really fun. We're already trying to come up with a new venture...I don't think I can post without a picture of Hailey, so here you go- Hailey's classic eating position!Other than that, we've been organizing our garage all weekend. Kevin built massive shelves for our garage and maybe now I'll be able to park our new car in it! I've been joking with Kevin that he has a personal shop because currently he has his Scout and 2 motorcycles in our garage. I don't get too mad at him because 1-its a hobby of his to work on motorcycles and old cars, and 2-he doesn't keep them for long-just enough to fix them and sell them. All except for his Scout of course...the Scout is like our third child. Kevin has a serious talent though. Both of these motorcycles weren't running and were sold dirt cheap and both of them he got running by 2 days max! These next two are for the guys I suppose...

Hailey is 9 Months!

Hailey had her 9 month checkup today!

17 lbs 14 ounces (33 percentile)

27 3/4 inches tall (57 percentile)

Hailey is so much fun at this age and is getting into everything! She is a super fast crawler and climbs into everything she possible can. She pulls herself up to anything and lets go sometimes, but then slowly squats down. She loves to push things and walk behind them, or push them along the floor as she's crawling! We have to watch her like a hawk and she is more of a monkey than Scott was (which I didn't think was possible) She can slide her way out of any chair or seat, even if she's strapped in, and she also knows how to climb up on the couch now too. She still just has her bottom teeth, but the top two are right at her gums...any day now. She loves to smile and LOVES to eat, especially if she gets to feed herself. Her favorite is cooked frozen peas and she is so proud she gets to do it by herself.

On Saturday we got together with some of our close college friends and all 3 couples have a boy and a girl, Hailey is the youngest of the girls. One of the little girls who is about 15 months was sitting in a booster on the floor eating her dinner and the boys were off playing. I realized Hailey was missing and where did we find her? She was sitting by the booster along with the 12 month old chowing down on Emerson's strawberries! We thought it was funny because that's pretty typical of girls- gather where the food is. The boys didn't have a thing to do with dinner until they were done playing with their cars at about 9 pm! We all let it slide so we could get some adult conversation in...

These next pictures are for Grammy! When we went to Colorado she let us take this cute "treehouse" home and Scott LOVES it. Here are the kids playing in it while we washed it in the driveway. Thanks Grammy!

It even has a mailbox and a little safe under it where he can hide his most prized posessions. SO cute!

Out of the Mouth of Scott...

Scott has been using his smarts to get his way lately. A few weeks ago I said, "Ugh!" and he said, "what's that mom?" and I said, "That's what I do when I'm frustrated" So the other night he comes walking down the stairs (he was suppose to be asleep) and says, "Ugh...I'm just soooo frustrated! I'm so frustrated that I can't stay in my bed." Of course Kevin gave in and let him sleep in the guest room downstairs. Kevin says, "Well hey-he used it in context so he obviously knows what it means."

Then last week I told him no when he wanted to get by the hot stove and cook with me and he said back, "Just hear me out mom... no means yes!" I could not believe it! Little stinker!
So I was running errands a few days ago and when I came home Kevin said, "Scott found his new favorite show-come see." I went downstairs and there he was glued to a show on the Discovery Channel called, "How it's Made". His eyes were huge and I'm sure his little brain was just soaking it all in like a sponge. Every night I let him watch tv to settle down while I nurse Hailey and get her to bed and every night this week he says, "I want to watch the made show". He's learned all about how peanut butter is made, gas tanks, etc. and just loves watching all the machines work. It kind of goes along with a video I have of him so I thought I'd post it. He has the same engineering mind of his dad and just like Kevin he loves to talk about all things mechanical. I love how he uses his hands and acts so serious when he explains it too.

What would we do without him? He just cracks us up!

On The Road AGAIN!

It seems like we've been gone all summer, but really we just took all our road trips in one month! We don't have the luxury of living close to family, so we have to make trips to see them. For Labor Day weekend we drove down to Colorado Springs, Colorado to visit Kevin's family. It was a 9 1/2 drive and once again- amen to dvd players!Here's Caeven playing with Hailey. They are only 3 months apart.

Scott loves animals and had so much fun taking Majeke for a walk each morning.
We also got to go to the Colorado Springs Zoo with Grammy, Aunt Brittney and Caeven. Our favorite part is always the giraffes because you get to feed them!

Another feeding frenzie was the Budgie Buddie exibit. They give the kids a stick with bird food on it- so much fun!

Kevin and I also got to go on a date while Grammy watched the kids. We went to dinner, grabbed some icecream and then got to go to the Colorado Balloon Classic. They do it every year and hot air balloons from all over the country come and "light up" at night. It was awesome! Very romantic! Thanks for the fun date babe!

We officially have 2 monkeys now...

Here's Hailey and her cousin Amanda. Hailey was ripping off her hat like she does with her cousin Mia. Colorado Springs is famous for the Garden of the Gods which is a lot like the Red Rocks in Las Vegas except green! It's beautiful. For Kevin and his brothers it's a place they can go drive their rock climbers. You can see how much bigger dad's is compared to the one Scott was driving.
