JANUARY

January is usually pretty chill around these parts. There's usually some cleaning involved with taking down Christmas, and then we just enjoy the calm after the holidays. 
 Check out all the snow on our roof!

We've spent most of the month up the canyon skiing. Our ski resort is so reasonable for kids, and we feel so lucky to get to go as a family. I don't LOVE skiing, but I do love the memories we've made together and I wouldn't miss that for the world! For the past several years the kids take ski lessons for the month of January, which is nice for Kevin and I because we get a little date in on the slopes! The kids have gotten really good, in fact they totally leave me in the dust now!

Kevin went to Florida to visit his brother Kenny which was so much fun for him! I was feeling brave that I took the kids all by myself. We had a great time though, and Dad enjoyed soaking up the sun on Kenny's boat!

Hailey has quite a few friends that ski. It's always fun when they can meet up on the slopes and ski together. This is her best friend Tage. 

Jay is totally into jumps and ditching off into the trees. It's a little scary, especially when he takes a tumble. But on the plus side, he's so small he doesn't have a long ways to go to crash. This time we couldn't even find his one ski because he went flying so far. Oh my goodness... such a stunt devil over here!

Jay is still dressing up every chance he gets. I never know whose going to come out of the room. Could be a pirate, a clown or spiderman! I love that he has his own "dress up" box in his room just like Ari does, they have the most creative little minds!

Ari got to go ice-skating with her activity day girls and had a blast, as you can tell!

It's such a crack up that Hailey didn't own a pair of jeans! She's been through so many stages where she would only wear baggy sweatpants, and big t shirts, then she went to tights with long shirts, etc. So she finally decided to buy some pairs of jeans and just look how happy she looks! (I've been trying to convince her, but who listens to mom!?)

Master Bathroom Remodel

Our bathroom is finally finished! It's been remodeled in phases. We've always had a functioning bathroom, minus the shower. So a few years in we demoed the shower and continued to use the bathroom, then we demoed the spa bathtub but kept using the sinks and toilet, and then took the whole thing apart and started in. So it's hard to say when the project started, but it's finished at last!! Yay!

The vertical strip in the shower was my inspiration for the bathroom, and I wanted as much white as I could get. Then my dad had this extra wall tile and we decided to put it behind the bathtub as an afterthought, which kind of turned out to be the focus and "wow" factor of the whole bathroom. Everyone comments on the wall. It turned out so amazing! 

I also should mention Kevin did everything except for installing the glass wall. He's so amazing!

A huge change was that the door swung INTO the bathroom which cut out a lot of space in an already small bathroom. So we took that out and put in this sliding barn door

And some before pictures! Yikes! I pulled these pictures from when we first bought the house in 2012. We did paint the walls right away, but everything else pretty much stayed the same until we were ready for the demo.
