"But Jesus told me to do it" There you have it- Scott's exuse for the day! After finding him in my jewelry and makeup he told me, "Jesus said to get a chair and get into your makeup...Jesus told me to do it" I said, "Oh yeah, when did he tell you to do that?" and he said, "just this morning!"

I got off the phone from a short conversation to find Scott and Hailey in MY bedroom with the door locked. Once I unlocked it with the handy key above the door, I was happy to find just a small amount of trouble going on. I had a talk with Scott about not going into my room and told him he isn't allowed in unless mom or dad is with him and he said, "Well Hailey was in with me as a little mom"

Christmas

Instead of treats, one of my neighbors brought some rolls over with this note- I thought it was perfect!
"As we 'roll' into the new year, may we pause for a moment and reflect on the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. How grateful we are for His Atonement and example..."

With 2 birthdays and everything else that went on this month, we didn't get to do half the things we planned on doing to have that perfect 'Christ-like' Christmas. Being able to teach the little 3 year olds this year in church all about Jesus and the nativity story really helped me to get in gear for the true spirit of Christmas. The things I taught them were so simple, yet that's all that really matters. I love how simple our gospel is and feel very blessed and fortunate this Christmas season for all that I have and all that the Savior has done for me.

That being said, we had a wonderful Christmas this year at our home. Scott wrote a letter to Santa this year begging for a remote control car. The funny thing is that I didn't put a stamp on it so that Kevin could pick it up on his way to work and I could save it (being that it was the first letter!) Well I was pretty upset to see that the mail lady took it without a stamp! Well a few days before Christmas there was a letter in our mailbox "To my Good Friend Scott" from "Santa". I thought that was the sweetest thing ever! Santa actually wrote him back!!

Hailey with a new shirt and shoesOn Wednesday we spent lots of time playing out in the snow. I love this picture of Scott with the mountains in the back. We had quite the battle begging him to get into the snowsuit, but once he realized he would no longer get wet, he loved it!
The battery is dead on this old four wheeler of Scott's, but Kevin pulled it out of the garage and pulled Hailey in the snow. She was hilarious! She kept standing up like she was riding a real one. So cute!

Making Presents

This year I had so much fun making Christmas presents and had a few requests to show what I've been up to. Kevin set out his saw horses and a 8 foot sheet of plywood and ta da-Sewing table!
Here's the quilt I made my brother in-law Rick out of all his soccer Jerseys Scott use to get scared when he'd see grandparents or aunts and uncles he hadn't seen in a while, so I took an old photo book and filled it with pictures. Then I'd say the names as we'd look at the pictures and he would always recognize the people. It helped so much. So I decided to make one for Hailey and my niece Mia out of fabric so that it would be soft for them. They turned out pretty cool and the girls loved them! I-Spy bags for Scott and Hailey. Scott's has sports balls and animals and Hailey's has girly stuff like a glass slipper, crown, etc. I got directions off this blog here

Jewelry bags for my sister in-law Brittney. My sister in law Kelli had gotten one from her mother in law I think, and ever since then I've been wanting to make one. This is awesome for traveling because your earrings don't get lost in your makeup bag! There's little pouches to put all your earrings and then your bracelets and necklaces go in the middle.
Aprons are in big time this year so I made one for my mom and sister Candice. Oh and a little one for Mia.

Anyway I had a ton of fun! I only wish I had more time during the year to sew, rather than cramming it all into one month!

Scott's 3 Year and Hailey's 1 Year Pictures

Scott turned 3 today and we had quite the busy day! When he was eating breakfast this morning I said, "Wow! I can't believe you are 3! Do you think you are old enough for Primary now?" And he said, "Yeah! I'm old enough to drive too!" I don't think so Budd...

This morning Scott went to a friend's house to play while I attempted to make him a monster truck show cake. While I was doing this...

Hailey was bored out of her mind and passed out on the kitchen rug! The sad thing I have to admit is that I left her like that for 30 minutes so I could finish the cake! Look closely and you'll see her cute little legs crossed.

I always just do cupcakes, so Scott was pretty excited to see his cake. He wanted to drive the trucks on the ramps right away. Don't worry, after we snapped a few pictures we let him and he got "dirt" all over the table

Since Aunt Brooke only lives 1 1/2 from here, she drove up to celebrate with us!

GPa and GMa Blaser got Scott a CARS scooter and he was pretty excited about it. Don't worry about the snow, a few times a week I empty the car out of the garage and let him play in there. So hopefully by the summer he will be really good.

Even better than riding the scooter for Scott is helping put it together. This kid LOVES tools and putting things together

I love how excited kids get over just simple things. It was funny though every time he opened up clothes he would say, "Yeah! More clothes!" and then throw them across the kitchen.

This Diego Lego car we found is so cool...it changes into a helicopter, submarine, and lots of other things!

It's so hard to even get out the Christmas presents next week when he just got all of this! That's what he gets for being the first grandkid and the first boy on my side of the family!

Scott gave me the tightest bear hug before bed and that's when I almost lost it. I really can't believe he's 3 already! Here's some things about Scott... first and foremost he has a love for all things mechanical and especially tools. Even opening up his presents if there was tape he would say, "Oh wait I have a tool for that" and would run back to his room. Putting the scooter together tonight Scott knew without being told that you put on the washer first and then the bolt and he told us how it went. Kevin is already saving up to buy a hot rod when Scott's a little older so they can build it together. I have a feeling he will love to do that. Scott has a sweet side too and loves to give hugs and kisses. Even though he picks on Hailey quite a bit, he really loves her so much. A few weeks ago he slammed her finger in the door hinge (not on purpose) and she cried for probably 20 minutes straight. I wasn't sure where he went and I found him on his bed with the door closed. He said he stayed in his room to "cool off." He was really upset at himself and felt really bad. Scott loves to read too. We have a lot of books and read every day. He knows most of the books by heart and usually I will only read the first few words and let him finish the rest. He thinks he's so big and he's sooooo independent and VERY stubborn at times. My favorite part of the day on my days to put Scott to bed is singing him this silly short song my sister Candice taught me. The funny thing is that I use to sing it to him as a baby and then I stopped when he was almost 2 because I really didn't think he cared. Then after Hailey was born I sang it to her once and that's when Scott started requesting it again. EVERY night he asks me to sing him the "I love you" song. It might be silly, but that is something I cherish so much. I know Kevin feels the same way. We love you so much Scott and are so glad you are a part of our family.

Can I brag about our little town? I LOVE it! On Friday night we drove over to one of our many community parks and from there Kevin, Scott, Hailey and I got to take a hay ride (with horses might I add) over to a great big old barn. We followed the lit lanterns and walked into the barn to see Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus and the whole setup. Live animals and everything- even a camel! It was really neat. I think Scott might of actually believed that was the real Jesus. He was in awe the entire time. It was a really fun and spiritual family night.

Speaking of nativities...I was wanting to buy the Little Peoples Nativity set when I found this Playmobil one instead. It's great for 3 and up because they can move their legs and arms. Scott loves playing with it every day. It even came with gifts in little chests that the wise men bring to baby Jesus. Too cool

This was taken last weekend at a friend's house. We made little Christmas trees out of upside down sugar cones and green frosting. Yum!
We got dumped on this Saturday! Hailey's first time in snow! She pulled off her gloves right away so that she could eat the snow.

When I brought her out Scott said, "Ohhhhh! She looks just like a little spaceman!"

Last year this picture would have shown the beautiful snow capped Cache Valley Mountains....how sad, but we do like our new neighbors
