Today after I told Scott he was smart he said to me,

"Oh yeah I forgot. You don't have a brain because you have a baby" and pointed to my belly.

Hailey and Scott Buds

There are so many funny things about this video of Hailey! First of all she is wearing her favorite outfit (her snowsuit), and yes-it is on backwards because she has to do everything herself. She's always been a climber, and she loves to climb up onto the counter and turn on music to dance to (don't worry Kevin was right there ready to grab her if she got close to the edge!)

Hailey was suppose to be taking a bath by herself, especially since Scott hates taking baths-but Scott came running in to join.

After bath it was time to warm up toesies by the fireplace (I have to note how nice this picture would be if the fireplace was rocked, but that's okay!)Don't get the impression that Scott and Hailey play together wonderfully all the time, because that's simply not the case! That's exactly why I have to take lots of pictures during their more "tender" moments. It seemed like for a few days they were inseparable and wanted to do everything together.

Hailey looks up to Scott so much. Here's an example- She has been doing great with her potty training and even goes to the potty without being reminded when she feels the urge. The only problem is the poop issue. She's only done that a few times because she's scared or something. Well the other day when the duty called she sat up on her potty and asked if Scott could come help her. He rubbed her back and coached her through to get the job done.Haha- too funny!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Luckily the kids really care less-they still want to be outside every chance they get. Which thanks to our fence means a little break for mom!

I think I took these a few weeks ago before church. Scott has moved up from sunbeams to CTR, and Hailey is in senior nursery this year.Kevin has been working a lot of hours pretty much since we got back from Christmas break. This is the first weekend he hasn't worked, so we're excited about that! He's almost wrapped up the project he has been working on for the past 7 months at Schreiber and starting a new one. They want him to manage some more projects for the plant again this year-so that means a whole year of day shifts-yeah!

I'm now down to doctor visits every week, so that means there's not much of the pregnancy left. We are all getting anxious to meet this little one, and a bit nervous about having 3 kids. Last night we ate out as a family at a Mexican restaurant and it was so nice. Scott always enjoys eating out, and even though Hailey is at that antsy stage, she loves food so much that she doesn't make a peep either. We got home and Kevin noted how just when the kids are well behaved and we can go out successfully, we add another one to the bunch and start all over-so true!

Carseat Cover

Here's a project I just finished for the baby! These are really popular here in Utah, and they are always done in cute modern fabrics, which make them fun to carry around.polka dots on the inside I've always thrown blankets over my carseats (especially with the cold weather), but then your hands with always slip trying to hold it with a blanket underneath. This way the bar is still bare to hold the carseat. It's really great for when the baby is sleeping because people catch a hint not to bug if it's covered. Nope- we still don't know what we're having yet, but I figured it being blue and brown AND having flowers it could go either way.

It was such a fun and easy project too! It maybe took 2 hours with kids pulling at my legs and sitting in my lap (not bad). I google searched for instructions and found an awesome tutorial so click HERE if you want to make one!

Potty Training Hailey

We made it through week 1 of potty training with Hailey!

Hooray!

Basically this has been the wardrobe for a week. Hailey has been doing awesome! She hasn't had any accidents in 2 days and has been dry during naps too. That's with me prompting her and taking her to the potty though... next week we are going to work on her taking herself. She did it once today with a prompt from me. Wish us luck!

Cuddles and Allergy Testing

Scott and Hailey have been so cuddly lately... (I'm sure it won't last, but I'm sure enjoying it!) The other night they didn't want to be seperated for bedtime, so we decided we'd read books in Scott's bed first. I think they gave eachother about 5 goodnight kisses before we were finally allowed to seperate!

This was after Hailey was climbing all over me and I told her I didn't have much of a lap to sit on. Scott says, "Come here Hailey! I have a big lap to sit in"I guess I realized this week that the baby is due next month and we really have done nothing to prepare! I brought out the baby stuff and started panicking a little bit. Hailey's main wish is to be a baby again. Seriously...sucking on bottles, climbing in the bassenet-everything!

A quick update on Scott.... Today we spent 3 hours in the allergists office doing food challenges! Even though he scored an 86 on his blood test for dairy, his allergist wanted us to come in and do a food challenge. We have cut out all dairy products for 2 1/2 years and his allergy results keep coming back higher and higher (they were only 21 when he was 18 months old). So obviously that method wasn't working! We were all hoping that he could possibly tolerate some baked foods with dairy and that if he can start eating these things, maybe his immune system can be built up and possibly even be able to tolerate milk at some point in his life.
I felt like I was giving him poison when he told me to give him a piece of bread with whey in it! He passed everything we tried today- white bread with butter ingredients, wheat bread with whey, pancake made with skim milk, muffin with whey, goldfish and even a string cheese. We were all completely shocked! The allergist told us to start giving him processed dairy foods. Kevin has so much faith. I really need to take his example- I'm still really scared. I guess it's like starting a baby on foods- you start out really small right?! If you want to hear all the details of the testing you can go to my cooking blog

Scott 4 Year Checkup

Scott had his 4 year checkup today since last month was so busy!

39 3/4 pounds (79th percentile)

42 inches tall (83rd percentile)

He's now old enough to get his blood pressure checked along with a vision test. It was so cute watching him read the pictures from across the room and he even passed 20/20. The nurse said most 4 year olds stare at everything in the room and have a hard time concentrating, but Scott wanted to pay attention and was very proud of himself. His last measurements were at his 3 year checkup, and after looking at those he's grown 4 inches and gained 6 pounds over the year. What a big kid he's becoming!

Trip to Las Vegas

Funny that we are the ones who live in Utah, yet we come to Las Vegas and go sledding. Candice and Rick had these awesome old sleds that you can steer with your feet- we had a blast! Thanks Bre for all the great pictures!

Two things I love about this picture- Hailey's cute little grin and how tiny she looks riding with Kevin...like a little marshmellow! Scotts only memories of sledding are of getting pulled around fresh snow. He's never been down a hill on his own, and he wasn't about to waste any time either! He hopped right on the little sled, walked himself up the hill and away he'd go. He'll try anything.The funny part is that he would be heading right toward us and instead of saying, "Stop me!" He would say, "MOVE! Move out of the way!" When he was ready to stop he would tip himself over...too funny!
Even Grandma got in on the action...but only after strict orders to only ride the steering sleds. (Remember- she dislocated her elbow playing flag football last year!)Of course Rick and Kevin had to show off and go all the way to the top. Some guy showed up in a plastic sled and thought he could do it too- it didn't go so wellHailey and Aunt BrookeCandice and MiaThe weather was so beautiful too! We decided to take the kids to the park and have a picnic (yeah, in December!)Hailey and Mia cooking with Grandma One night Kevin and I went to the temple with Brooke and Chris and out to dinner while Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids. They ended up having popcorn and watching a movie in Grandma's bed Oh and as far as Kevin goes, he got to go shooting and spent 2 full days riding dirt bikes in Logandale with the guys- just no pics!
