Thanksgiving!

The official Thanksgiving meeting place for my family is Idaho, and we were so excited to make it this year since last year I was one week away from delivering Hailey and stuck at home! My parents, sisters and their spouses were all there so we had a blast!
My parents actually stopped by our house last weekend on their way up to Idaho and decided to take Scott with them a few days early. As soon as Scott settled down from his excitement he was waiting holding the front door nob with his coat on and Cars suitcase in hand. He was sooooo excited to go with Grandpa and Grandma Blaser and he had a blast for 2 days before his mom and dad arrived and pulled him back to reality!

On Thanksgiving Day the guys went out shooting in the morning while the girls finished up the cooking, then we all sat around the table and enjoyed a delicious meal together (Thanks Mom! You are the BEST cook!) Then we waited a little while and started up the traditional family football game. Here's Scott huddling up with his team and then running for the touchdown...

Thanksgiving just isn't the same without a trip to the E.R. right?! After catching a fly, my mom (who is the biggest football fan I have ever known by the way) took a hard fall. She is so tough too...not one cry or sound of pain came out of her, so I think we were all surprised to find out her elbow was separated! She had to spend the rest of the evening at the hospital getting x-rays and all that. They had to put her out to set her elbow back in and sent her home with a sling, pain meds and a torn hamstring. All the girls were joking saying that if it were us you could have heard the cries from Las Vegas!

Hailey and Mia are only 3 1/2 months apart and were having a blast playing together. They are going to have so much fun when they get older!

Friday we drove to the beautiful Sun Valley to go ice-skating. Of course I was bummed because Kevin just got off his knee brace and still hasn't had the "okay" from the doc to bend it yet. Here's Kevin and Hailey watching from the sidelines.
This was Scott's first year skating with skates and he surprised us all. I thought he would do once around the rink and be done, but surprisingly he kept asking to go back out. I think next year he will like it even more.

I can't even tell you how much fun it was to all be together this weekend. I love you girls!

Hailey wouldn't sit still and loved to be taken around the rink on her shoes just like Scott did when we took him at her age to the same rink. I can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like it was just last year that we did that with Scott but it was 2 years ago!

Other than that we spent tons of time snacking on tasty food and watching football games. It was a really fun weekend. Time to get ready for birthdays and Christmas! It's a busy month for us!

Hailey realized this week that she can get around by foot, so she's been walking around the entire house with a big proud smile. She also found out how to climb down the stairs backwards, so that's been a fun thing to do- up and down, up and down, up and down. She gets really mad if the safety gait is closed, just like she does with the safety latches on my cupboards with glass. Anytime she doesn't get what she wants she throws a big huge fit. If she has a toy that Scott wants she'll hide it behind her back. It's soooo funny! Also if Kevin is going to get her out of something she's not suppose to be doing she will take off 90 miles an hour. She is such a character!

Scott has had what Kevin and I call "the teenager attitude". He just has a negative attitude right along with back talking and smug remarks. I hope he gets it out of his system now! One thing I found that has helped is every day when he gets up we talk about the day's events, how I expect him to behave and his consequences for the day. Then we have a small prayer just me and him to "help him be good". I can't believe the difference that has made this week! He's also been helping me cook dinner almost every night. He loves it, especially when I use the kid cookbook I bought because it has picture directions so he can see what's next. Funny how he has eaten tons of vegetables and lots more of dinner just because he cooked it!

Hailey's new favorite toy is Scott's tool bench. She loves to stick the nails in the holes and pull them back out again.

Scott still isn't great with sharing his precious toys, but the other day while I was cooking dinner he sat there with Hailey and his tool bench and they played quietly for about 20 mintues! I was in shock! It's so much fun to watch Scott and Hailey interact together. Hailey almost likes it when Scott bullies her because she goes back for more and laughs and laughs.

The countdown is on for their birthdays! Hailey will be 1 year old in 3 weeks, and Scott will be 3 years old in one month! I just can't believe it!

Trip to California!

My sister Bre got married this weekend in California so my family all went down to be there. It was a really intimate and small ceremony at Wally's parent's house overlooking the city and beautiful sunset!

It was a really awesome experience to meet Wally's big family. We were even served an authentic Arabic/or Middle Eastern meal that all the women cooked. The food looked beautiful and tasted wonderful. I wish I had taken some pictures. Here's Hailey with Wally's Aunt Anna Marie

They had a "bounce house" to keep the kids entertained but by the end of the night most the girls ended up in there too! Bre and Hailey

What a stud! I love this picture of Kevin. He was on the lookout making sure the kids didn't turn the bounce house into a wrestling match (although it got pretty close at times! Scott had a blast!)

Hailey stayed entertained by this little "Flinstone Car" I think we might just have to write to Santa for one for Christmas! She was too cute!

It was a quick trip, but we had so much fun just hanging out with family as usual. Scott couldn't get enough of Bre and Wally's dogs Rocky and Mercedes. The last night we were there he had to take Mercedes with him everywhere, even to read his bedtime stories. So cute!

Let the Trouble Begin!

I know I just posted about Halloween, but Hailey was really in the walking mood and I had to put together some clips of her in action! How exciting for her! (I'm not sure what Scott thinks yet!)

I love this one because Hailey is looking up at Scott like, "Who are you!?" Scott's mean pirate face I thought the mustache added character, but Scott looked in the mirror and started crying asking me to take it off... I guess he doesn't want to grow up just yet! Hailey, the kitty!

I just love our town! They do trick or treating for kids along Main Street and at the mall. Scott, Hailey and I went with some neighbors down Main and then at night Kevin and I took them around our neighborhood. It was a fun Halloween and Scott is still detoxing from the sugar rush!
