October Happenings

Jay has been loosing teeth like crazy. I think he's lost 4 in a months time. The kids joke that he is going to start pulling them out because he's enjoying the tooth fairy money so much :)

 I was on the fence about his school pictures we got back, but when he lost his second front tooth I knew we had to have re-takes just so he could be missing his two front teeth. Too adorable! I love it!

Jay is just a cutie and he's always in competition with Kevin. He is always asking me who is more handsome- him or Dad? Who do I love more, him or Dad? And if I sit by Kevin for scriptures before bed he pouts until I move over to him. His most common question is, "Mom, Do you love Dad better than me?" And then he gets mad when I tell him I love both of them. And then he'll say, "When Dad breaks up with mom I'm going to marry her." I know he'll grow out of it so I think it's adorable lol.

Kind of a family tradition is the American Heritage Center's Fall Festival they have.... we go every year

 We pulled out pictures from when Hailey was like 3 years old and she looks just as scared here as she did then. So funny!

 Kevin and I were having a blast bumping into the kids on these little bouncy balls. I'm pretty sure they weren't for adults, but it was fun anyways

 Jay has come a long way with his artwork, so I had to snap this picture when I was helping in his class. It was the 5 little pumpkins book and instead of drawing it just like the teacher had the kids do it, he had his going up the hill. I thought it was creative.

Both the girls came with me to the Women's Broadcast of General Conference which was pretty fun. We had to go get fro yo afterwards of course!

 Ari's dance company has been adding a Halloween Showcase the last few years and it's pretty fun! They only work on the songs for a few months so they keep them pretty simple., but Ari loves the stage so it's fun to get an extra show!

Fall Soccer and Rockclimbing

Jay, Hailey and Ari all did soccer this fall. Hailey was showing him some moves out in the yard, so cute!

Then of course from previous posts, Ari broke her arm the week soccer started. She still played, but we got to make a bubble arm for every game which she hated

She wore the cast for 8 weeks and went from green to purple. Flopsy stayed with her til the end :)

She always plays defense but the one game we talked coach into playing forward for a minute, she scored the first minute. She was pretty excited. 

Scott took rock climbing over the summer and decided to continue for the fall season. He is so awesome at it! I think he'll probably stick with this one

Social Bug Jay

I'm trying to print out all my blogs since I haven't been and there are over 10 years (yikes)... It's going to take me a while to say the least. But since I'm starting on 2007 and 2008 I realized how much more I wrote about Scott then the others. I was so good about writing every cute thing he said. (First child syndrome) I love it! But it made me feel a tad bit sad that life has been so crazy with four kids that I haven't been able to write down every cute and funny thing Jay has said. Which trust me, this kid is hilarious. Every day we are laughing over things he says. So I'm going to try and be better, but for now I thought this was cute what he said at the dinner table last night.

Jay:   "So I got moved to the purple table today." 

Mom:      "You did? How come?"

Jay:       "From Talky Talky Talky"

I just thought that was funny because we are only in the second month of kindergarten and he has already been moved to THREE different tables from "talky talky talky" lol. Sounds about right- such a social little bug!

Jay Turned 6!!

I have let each of the kiddos have their first "friend" party when they are in kindergarten. Hard to believe this is our last little kindergarten birthday party. They are soooo stinkin cute at this age I love it! Jay wanted a super hero party, naturally :)

Jay was super excited for his party, starting as soon as he woke up.  

This was the funnest part of the party. We found these cute little capes- 4 for the girls and 4 for the boys. They even each had a mask to go with it. And then that's what we sent the kids home with for their "party favor"

 Jay had 2 little girl friends come along with 3 boys. Plus sisters made 4 super girls and 4 superheros. Scott was an awesome help too! So nice to have big kids to help! After the kids picked which superhero they wanted to be, they made cute little cuffs for their wrists to complete their ensemble.

Then we played super hero freeze to a bunch of marvel music like spiderman and the superman theme. Super cute!

Followed by the funnest game ever called Super Hero Muscles. One kid from each time got to be the superhero. Then the teams stuff balloons in the clothes while being timed. Whichever superhero has the most "muscles" after the timer wins. They LOVED this one. It was even funner that the two volunteers were the girls.

Then bingo with a twist that when you get bingo you get to pick your prize from "hulk smash" board that Hailey made for the party. So fun.

After that we spotted a crimal/bad guy in the backyard (aka Hailey)

 Everyone was armed with Spiderman string and set out to attack the villain.

 My only regret from the party was not getting a picture of the kids all lined up with their capes and masks...this is the closest thing to it with them all chasing Hailey. Hailey was hilarious btw. She kept saying "What did I sign up for!?" lol

 After friends left Jay opened his presents from our family. Super cute little card Arianna made him...love!

It was a busy and successful day! Jay was the cutest and it was so fun to see him so excited and just having a blast with his little buddies. Even better, they have all been running around in their capes and masks outside all week long in the neighborhood. One little girl thinks she got super powers at Jay's party because the night of the party, all our city's power went off at the exact time she threw her mask on the ground. Hilarious. She said she wasn't sure if she could even contain her powers the next day at school because "I don't know mom....they are pretty powerful" lol

The best! We sure love Jay to pieces! I told him that night that he was the cherry on top in our little family. Just an angel and sweetie pie this kid! Happy Birthday Bud!!
