School Has Officially Begun!

School started on Thursday for Scott and Hailey, and today for Arianna. I can't believe I have 3 in elementary school! They are growing up so fast!

 These two melt my heart sometimes. When I pick them up from school I watch proudly as Scott waits for Hailey and then holds her hand to the car. Every day. I love it! He takes his big brother very seriously. And this year he has 2 sisters to look after.

And then there's Arianna who is in kindergarten!
She was so excited I had to ride my bike extra fast to catch up to her on our way to school today she was booking it so fast. She was sick of waiting around. Lives for social experiences that's for sure

I like to bring them to their classes on the first day and snap a picture by the door if I can

And then there's Jay. He had so much fun making playdough with Mom. Arianna's kindergarten is just in the afternoon, so in the morning he gets to quarrel...I mean play with Arianna and then the afternoon he is an only child. I had to laugh when my sister Candice sent us a text with Kellan hugging on Mia because he misses her so much at school

Is this the face of a child missing his siblings? I think not! lol

Today was the first day of school and after hearing all about their awesome day, Hailey asked me about mine. 

I said, "I canned 14 quarts of pears while you were at school today....actually I canned pears, made playdough with Jay and baked cupcakes."

She said, "Oh my! You are Super Mom!!" I laughed and she said, "No really. You must be exhausted! When I grow up I'm going to sit on the couch and eat cupcakes"

Last tidbits of summer....

Every year I say this, but summer has gone by way too fast!!

 This was one of my favorite moments this summer. The kids and I rode our bikes to the park to play some soccer and catch, and afterwards we rolled down the hills. I was trying to teach them human cartwheel (or whatever you call it when one person goes over the other connected by hands and feet) and steam roller, and we just laughed and laughed. It was just one of those "in the moments" times...Fun fun

 Sweet sibling moment with Hailey reading to Ari and Jay. I love when you don't ask them to, but they pick up a book on their own to read to their siblings. Love it. I don't have a picture, but Jay and Scott grew super close this summer. Scott has pretty much just let him tag along right with him and they have done lots and lots of legos and building, reading together and playing games. So sweet.

As soon as we got back from Vegas, my green beans were ready to can so I have been doing that what seems like nonstop this month. I canned 50 jars and have 1 batch in the pressure cooker right now. Pears came early too so that will be this week and peaches will be close after....A busy time for sure! lol

This is about what I was picking per week this month. I was worried the garden wouldn't do good because we had such a wet spring they said there would be a ton of pests, but that wasn't the case

 This year I also let Hailey have her own little garden inside of mine where she could plant flowers and things. She decided she wanted to plant some giant sunflowers though and they kind of took over the rest. lol Beautiful though!! She is very proud!

Other news is that I was released from primary and got put in as 1st counselor in the Young Womens for our church. I am so excited but also so overwhelmed with such a big responsibility. I am already so impressed with the youth in our church. They will probably end up teaching me more than I will teach them- they are amazing girls! 

So Sunday I had to teach and also had a presidency meeting. So knowing I would be short on time I decided to put the girls in curlers the night before

 They loved it and thought it was so fun! And were even more excited when we didn't have to do their hair the next day! (too busy for a curly hair pic sorry)

My great friend Sarra from Missouri came out here with all 6 of her kids! It was so awesome!

She was coming to pick up her daughter Bailey from college if you can believe that!

One of the days I took them to Hyrum Reservoir with the kayaks. 

In July when Kevin and I were there the water was to that tree! Crazy!

We just sat and bathed in the sun which we both love. And we took a little kayak cruise and contemplated leaving the kids for the rest of the day on the beach. haha 

Not really, but it was just so relaxing and peaceful out in the water with a great friend and great conversation. Just one of those awesome moments.  

Here's Gavin. Wish I would have gotten a picture of him and Scott. They were best buds in Missouri, and 3 years apart didn't seem to matter. They were having the best time burying themselves in piles of origami in Scott's room 

Gus and Garrett were content fishing all day. Gus even let Scott, Hailey and Jay tag along. And they each caught a fish. Jay even reeled his in.

Between Bailey and Gus Jay was in heaven. They kept asking who was his favorite and he was such a little tease. He would change it back and forth every time

We also did some fireworks and built a fire both nights and roasted s'mores. It was a fun few days. Wish it was longer! Where Scott is the oldest grandkid on my side and has just 2 older than him on Kevin's side, he doesn't have a lot of older cousins to look up to. It was just awesome to have some teenagers around ;) And every one of them so well manor-ed and respectful. Made me realize I have a lot of work to do! lol They were just really good examples to have around. Now if we can just find a way for them to move out here- life would be perfect ;)

Vegas Time!

After Newport we spent a few days in Vegas and then Kevin flew home to go back to work. I got to stay with the kids an extra week and have more fun with the cousins!

Kyse was so sweet with Jay but it was a little sad because his little brother/sidekick was feeling a little left out any time he would buddy up with Jay

Bre brought her projector and we did a movie in the backyard. I think this will definitely be a tradition from here on out. Way too fun!

We also got to go to the lake! That was probably the highlight of the kids week!

 Kyse was feeling a little timid at first, but he warmed up really quick. Loving on his mama. Bre is due this month with their little girl! So exciting!

This is hilarious. Hailey kept sticking her foot in the water to splash Candice. Candice was not liking it one bit. Hailey...so good at pushing buttons! So funny!

 My dad had this great idea for us to "pose" that we were on the tube. But then Bre got a little carried away lifting her leg in the air with her cute pregnant belly and there we went! Off the tube! lol Of course my Dad was laughing too hard to take a picture of that, but I'm sure it was good!

 We spent every minute we could in the pool swimming. The highlight of the week was that Jay, who was too timid to jump in the pool or put his lips in, decided it was time to swim! It was so awesome!!!

 We had such a great week with everybody! On the last day we had there my mom and dad took the kids to Floyd Lamb park

 and Grandpa fished with my kids. They loved it. Even if they didn't catch any fish they still had a blast!

Just an awesome week! It's always a little crazy with all of us at my moms at the same time, but according to my mom it's the only way the cousins will get to know each other. And I'm so glad we get to do it each year! So much fun! Thanks for everything Mom and Dad!!! You guys are the greatest!
