It has been so busy around here! Mostly slaving away on our yard every night, with a few fun things mixed in. The biggest event is that we got grass on May 1st! We have also planted trees and shrubs and all that "fun" stuff. I will get some pictures once we finish with the mulching.

Scott's school had a mile run that all the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had to do. They have been practicing in PE for the past few weeks. He was soooo worried about it and so nervous. I told him it was okay to walk some of it I'm sure, and he said, "No! She said you can't walk! You have to learn how to do hard things!"
So they block off a busy road, have all the kids in the school and parents come line the streets to cheer them on. It's a pretty big event. I'm glad Jay and I came because he needed some encouragement. I was so proud of him! He finished and did great!
On Wednesday Scott also had a piano recital. He has been taking lessons for a little more than a year now and is getting pretty good! He actually wanted to take guitar lessons but I talked to one of the best guitar teachers here and he told me to have him take piano until he's at least 10...so that's the plan. But who knows he may actually end up loving piano :)
He played the Star Wars theme. He played it flawlessly at least 100 times at home. He was sooo nervous since he doesn't like to be in the limelight- but he only did a few mess ups. I told him nobody will notice if you mess up as long as you keep playing. ;)
We also had a garage sale a few weeks ago and sold a bunch of stuff including our kitchen table and hutch. I'm still looking for what I want, so in the meantime we have our backyard picnic table in the house. The kids are having a blast with all the indoor picnics and also having room for them all to line up to watch Saturday cartoons while eating breakfast. That's the best!
