Month of Soccer

August was the month of canning, and September was the month of soccer. They each have 2 games and a practice per week, so things get a little hectic. Scott decided not to play this year, so it was just Hailey and Arianna-which made it a little more manageable

They asked me to coach again even though I said I wouldn't. lol I needed a break, but I also kinda sorta like it even though it's a big time commitment and the parents stress me out! So I told them I would if it was the little girls. So I did end up coaching Arianna's under 6 team this season which was my 5th season of coaching. I definitely prefer the girls (coaching Scott's Under 8 all boys team 2 seasons was NOT my favorite!!) Under 8 girls was so much fun last year with Hailey, but I have fallen completely in love with Ari's team. They are pre-K and K and just adorable seriously!

She scored 1 goal her first game

Arianna has been doing so awesome and has improved so much from last season. There's still a few times a game when I have to tell her that the field is not a dancing stage, but most of the time she is paying attention ;) Love this girl!

And then there's Hailey who just took off this year. Something just clicked and she scored 5 goals in the first game alone! Crazy! She's up to 8 goals so far this season. Here's a video from the first game. Quality isn't great since it's with the cellphone. She makes me laugh because she would score a goal and walk off like-no big deal! lol

 She has been switching between forward and goalie. She is an awesome goalie. There was one game where the other team scored 8 goals in the first 12 minutes of the game. The coach was switching the goalie out and all the girls were screaming "NO! No! Don't make me do it!" They were all scared of the other team...they were pretty ruthless. I was crossing my fingers that Hailey wouldn't volunteer out of her safety! lol But of course she wanted to be goalie, and ended up staying goalie the rest of the game. It was basically target practice on us the entire game, but she only let 1 shot past her. She had to have stopped at least 25 shots and even got a little scraped up from some cleats. This girl has no fear! Such an athlete!

Randomness ...

I feel like all I did the entire month of August was canning, canning and more canning. Hailey is my little helper- she is every year. She loves it, especially the peaches

 The kids built a hug fort out of boxes in the backyard- pretty awesome!!

Huh? Just when I think nothing could ever surprise me with this girl, she does it again. Lol

Today we decided to test out a new hike in the Logan Canyon called Limber Pine. Scott had been on it before for his 3rd grade field trip. It was short and perfect for the kids, plus it had some pretty awesome views of Bear Lake 

(in front of a tree that is over 2,500 years old)

I love this kid. He got to wear some hand me down hiking boots that his cousin Kellan sent him (who is actually younger by the way! lol) and was just so proud of himself. He hiked about 1/4 of the trail and the entire time he was chanting, "Hiking with my boots!! I'm almost there! Hiking with my boots!" Just adorable. I love this age.

Scott is like his Dad...loves to show off his climbing skills on anything and everything! :)

After the hike we drove to the Bear Lake overlook and had a picnic lunch. 

This is our cute friend Bailey from Missouri (one of my great friends daughter)

 She is staying with us for the month of September! And the kids love her of course, especially Jay ;)

 I'm still recovering from our busy summer and enjoying the routine of school being in session. Now is when I go a little crazy loco deep cleaning the entire house and rearranging all of the furniture for fun! lol   Isn't that suppose to be in the Spring? Spring Cleaning? I always do it in the fall when the kids go to school!

Here's to a wonderful fall! I can feel it in the air already!
