Kevin and I had a blast in Key Largo!
The first day we drove to Key West for fun. The bridges getting there were pretty awesome.
Here we are in front on the Southern Most Point of the USA. There was a huge long line to take a picture in front of this monument. We weren't patient enough so we got the photo bombers edition :)
We had lunch and walked around the little shops there
The way back was super fun because we stopped at this little place called Bahia Honda State Park. We snorkeled there and saw some fish, beautiful reefs, tons of conch, and a beautiful massive sea star. The bridges are so pretty viewing from the beach
We walked up the old bridge which I guess started out as a railroad before an actual road and then they built the new one you can see parallel in the pic
Riding home we saw a little place called Sunset Grill so we decided to have dinner there. It was right after the 7 mile bridge which is pretty cool

The next day we spent at John Pennekamp State Park right in Key Largo. We killed some time exploring on paddle boards waiting for our scuba tour. Here's the first crocodillian sign we ran into. A little bit un-nerving. Lets just say when I got hot on my paddle board I didn't just jump in the water :) lol
Kevin's first time on a paddle board! Yay! It was a success minus one fall in the last 10 minutes of the ride :) Aren't these channels so pretty? Just thick green! Good thing they had signs pointing us in the right direction!
Really the whole purpose of this trip was to go scuba diving while all my skills are fresh from being certified :) Kevin went scuba diving here when he lived in Florida, and has been dying to take me. I'm so happy he did. It was the perfect place to go for my first time since being certified. It wasn't too deep, we had 60 feet visibility and it was just perfect.
Here I am super nervous about the dive. So actually I was so concerned about getting sick on the boat (aka honeymoon experience chucking instead of watching the sunset) that I completely forgot I was nervous about the dive! I just wanted off the boat. lol It all happened so quickly I just descended down like it was no biggie.
The first site was called Dry Rocks/Christ Statue. This picture from the internet is what it actually looks like when you are down there. Blue clear waters, super clear being able to see all the colors of the rainbow under the ocean
This is what a very sad disposable camera looks like hahaha. I am seriously sad someone told me our library rents out waterproof go-pro cameras! Seriously a bummer! Wish we would have known. But hey- there's proof I did it..I'm right behind the statue

On the boat between dives. The second dive we did was North North Dry Rocks. The ocean was seriously incredible with all the colors of the coral. Especially the purples! We saw lots of super cool fish, stingray, nurse sharks and lots of cool stuff. Such an amazing experience! I definitely wanna do it again! :)
So we were talking to a young couple on the way back from the dives. They had been married about 4 years and just doing as much traveling and fun as they can before they start having kids. We told them it will be 15 years for us in February and they were in awe. It was pretty cute. So we docked the boat and were all suppose to bring all our gear up to the shop. Which if you didn't know the gear is super heavy! I asked Kevin if he could take all the heavy stuff and I would get both our goggles and flippers. So the young guy saw Kevin carrying all my things and was like, "Crap that makes me look like a bad husband...that must be the key to 15 years huh?" I said, "No. You wanna know the key to 15 years? Ask for what you want." :) He was pretty excited to tell his wife that! (She...not so much haha Can't they just read your mind she said lol)
We went back to the hotel and cleaned up and were STARVING since we didn't really have a lunch. We tried out a restaurant our dive guide told us about and it was amazing. We totally splurged on the surf and turf and a fish they call hogfish. It was absolutely heaven. The whole meal. And the keylime pie! :)
After dinner we probably stayed another hour just sitting on the dock watching the sunset and enjoying the relaxing music from all the restaurants near by. We were wanting the fisherman next to us to catch something but no such luck.
Since our flight wasn't until the afternoon Saturday we decided to go check out this huge lobster we saw on the side of the road. lol
It turned out to be a cute little place with lots of little shops to wander through. Super fun! So we did some souvenir shopping for the kids then drove back to Ft. Lauterdale to catch our flight.
Our flight that was suppose to be 4 hours long turned out to be 7! We flew to Denver just fine but while we were trying to land they were having wind sheer and crazy weather. Seriously the most turbulence and anxiety and complete fear I have ever felt on a plane! We kept dropping down by the 10s of feets seriously. So the pilot ascended back up where we sat waiting and waiting. Then he decided it wasn't safe to land so we flew to Cheyenne Wyoming. Well Cheyenne is a small airport so we sat on the plane there for another hour before heading back to Denver. We were so happy to be on land again and just exhausted. We got to the Springs at 1 am and were woken at 7 am by all the kids jumping on us in bed :) I always love that so I wasn't too grouchy. :) We had such a great time and are so grateful for Cathy aka Grammy being willing and able to watch the kids! We had a blast and so did the kids!
