Last Week of 2007

Scott finally got to test out one of his new Christmas presents! When he woke up from his nap I said, "do you want to paint?" You should have seen his face when he said "YEAH!" Like, "Duh mom what kind of question is that!" So we got one of dad's old T-shirts and I let him loose. I actually got quite a bit done in the kitchen while Picasso was at work. One great tip I learned from working in a preschool is to mix in a few squirts of soap with each of the paints. That way it comes off super easy, no scrubbing necessary.

And while Scott is painting what is Hailey doing? Her usual routine....sleeping!

Kevin had to work on Sunday, but he was going to come home to go to church with us. Then he called me to say that there was a huge blizzard out and we probably should keep the kids in. Are you kidding me? I just managed to get myself and the 2 kids ready by on my own for nothing! So we decided to take some cute pictures and by the time we finished, the wind had calmed down and we made it to Sacrament after all. We seriously took about 20 pics of the whole family but seeing how we have no tripod, etc....that one might have to wait until Kevin can work his cropping magic.

Tell me this isn't the cutest church outfit! Thanks grandma! It reminds me of the older days- like the boys on that newsies movie. Scott kept telling me that he was handsome.

Christmas Day!

This was our first Christmas in our very own home, so it was definitely a fun one for us, even though we did miss our families very much! There is also something special about having a new baby in the home at Christmas time. I guess it just reminds us of the baby Jesus born and what Christmas really stands for.
Our Christmas was a little hectic (I can't even imagine what it will be like with more kids!) Scott was a little spoiled by family members and needless to say, his presents should keep him busy for years to come. Scott told Kevin Christmas Eve "Santa coming tomorrow...bringing presents" Pretty much since Scott met his two best buddies, Jackson and Walker, he has been begging us for a kitchen of his own. He was soooo excited to see that Santa brought him one and has been cooking up a storm for 2 days straight. Grandpa couldn't resist buying his only grandson a red wagon, and Scott has to have the wagon take him everywhere from the bathroom to brush his teeth, to his room to go to bed, and he even had to eat his oatmeal in it this morning! Thanks to all our family and friends for the wonderful gifts and for the love and support throughout the year. We love you!

Scott doesn't really mind when I hold Hailey, but seems to have quite a few issues when his daddy does.... he wants all of Kevin's attention to himself!Scott was so excited when I laid Hailey on his bed so I could play in his room with him. Even after 2 1/2 weeks, he thinks she's pretty cool.

Here's some more pictures! I figured I would put a few more on before Scott's big 2 birthday on Monday. It looks like Hailey has gotten out of the "sleepy" first few days and now she's been back to her sleep during the day, party at night routine that she was on when I was pregnant. Bummer. Hopefully we can change that before too long.

1st week home

Things at the Riggs' home are pretty laid back. Great Grandma and Grandpa Rydalch came to visit for a few days and Scott is just eating up the attention. I just had to post a few pictures just to tell everyone some of the things Scott has been saying. The most common saying of his is, "pet her" when he wants to touch her.....so cute! Then today after "petting" her he said, "like her". We asked back, "you like her?" and he said, "Yeah, I like her". What a great big brother!
