For Spring Break we had planned to go to the Redwoods to camp and explore, then with how darn cold it was here and was going to be there, we just couldn't do it. (I say we but it's really me who struggles with the winters here the most!) My sister mentioned Phoenix Arizona and when I checked the weather report for the week that settled that. We went from sleet and snow to a balmy 88 degrees. Reason to celebrate right there!
Family movie night that Jay didn't make it through lol
We stayed in Glendale which was super fun because our hotel was right by the Westgate Entertainment District
Look how cute these sisters are at the same height!
The kids absolutely loved being able to swim outside at the hotel every day. Did I mention they all went skiing here in Utah the day before we got to Arizona? lol What a contrast!
Going to the Phoenix Zoo was super fun and I'm sure Ari's favorite part of the week. The zoo was huge! We were there for 5 hours and Ari felt like we still missed a few animals. phew, really? lol
They were all most excited about getting to ride the camels!
There was one area where you can actually walk around inside the squirrel monkey exhibit and the monkeys are playing right over your head. Pretty fun!
Bugs Bugs Bugs
Jay demanded a picture in front of every single bug
I think they came to ride the camels, but everyone's favorite was the stingrays. You got to reach your hand over the edge into the water and then they come right up to your hand for you to pet them. It was the cutest thing and such a fun experience for the kids and Kevin and I too!

Beverly Canyon is a cool place to hike with views of the city but what we didn't know was that there were multiple hikes and they all kind of intertwine together. So we were going for a short 2 mile hike before heading to the Science Museum, and instead ended up on a 4 mile. Don't let the pictures fool you the kids were pretty whiny and tired and mama bear was getting nervous we were all going to die of heat exhaustion and dehydration. We survived with Dad's determination and calmness along with a bag of starbursts I found at the bottom of my backpack lol!
Once we switched to the Ridge Line trail and were on the top where there was a nice breeze and clear distinction to where we were headed it got much better :)
We made it out alive (mostly), grabbed lunch and headed to the Science Center
Every month they do a carshow at Westgate and it happened to be while we were there. It was so fun! We all got some icecream and wandered around and checked out the awesome cars! They had live music too. So much fun!
We had such a fun time spending time together! On the way back to Utah it only added about an hour to stop at the Grand Canyon, so we did!
It really is quite amazing! Pictures definitely don't do it justice
Kevin and the kids are over on that ledge in the middle front lol
