Another fun week

It's been another fun week here at our house! Scott has been busy as usual playing with all of his tools and unfortunately, he has been busy un-screwing every nob in our house. Seriously, anything that can be unscrewed has been at one time or another! One cute thing he said today while I was painting my toenails was "Makes mom feel better"-cute! Hailey has been growing like a weed and has her 2 month checkup next week. She has been cooing and smiling a lot, but still only sleeps 4 hours at night. Lets hope she learns quicker than Scott did! Now Scott has something to hold his tools. My mom found this in her cedar chest and it was my dad's (Grandpa Scott) when he was little. How precious!

This is how I get dinner done a lot of the time! Thank goodness for backpacks! (Oh and check out my hair-I cut about 10 inches off yesterday!)

This is a funny story. Scott is a really picky eater and won't touch vegetables, not even potatoes so I decided to cut them up like "chips" cook them in some olive oil with salt and pepper. I showed him how he could dip his "chips" in ketchup and he ate them all up. I thought I had him fooled into thinking they were actually chips when he said, "more potatoes please!" Funny Funny!

Blessing Day

We blessed our little Hailey today. When I was in college I made a blessing dress in a sewing class and hoped that someday I'd have a daughter to wear it. It was really special to me to have her in it today, and I was just glad that it fit because she's a wopping 11 1/2 pounds already! After we were all taking pictures this morning and I was putting Hailey in her carseat to go to church Scott said, "I want a picture with Hailey". What a cute big brother!Hailey with Grandma Blaser

Saturday night was pizza night and we ordered Scott his own personal pizza without cheese. He was pretty excited! Hailey and Aunt Brooke- This pic shows how curly and frizzy Hailey's hair is right out of the tub Grandpa Blaser and Scott - see the resemblance?

Mind of a Two Year Old

Another week has gone by. Scott is pretty much potty trained and even stays dry when we are out and about. Our pediatrician was right when he said that with Scott's personality type we need to let him call the shots and let it be his idea. On Friday he decided he was finished with the small potty and was moving onto the big one. Go Scott! :)

Let me let you peek inside the mind of a two year old...

• Last week when I was giving Hailey a bath in the tub with Scott I said, "Isn't she so cute Scott?" and he said, "Yeah, like Dora" (Dora the Explorer for those who don't know). I said, "Oh you think Dora is cute?" and he said, "Yeah... like her hair... (pause)...Darci too". Darci is another girl character from a book he loves to read. He's only 2! What am I going to do!
• "Swiper doesn't like diapers!" (Swiper is another character from Dora)
• Scott was crying because he didn't want to wear a diaper to bed and Kevin said, "how about you can wear your underwear ontop of the diaper to bed" Scott perked right up, went running to his room and said, "Good idea Dad!"
• Scott's favorite number is 40 and I'm not exactly sure why but any time you ask him how big something is (since he's always measuring with his tape measure) it's 40 inches. If I tell him that it's time to start getting ready for bed he replies, "40 more minutes please".
• Today when he went #2 in the big potty he screamed, "Mom doesn't believe it!"
• "Geez!" is Scott's word when he gets mad at something. He says it under his breath with a scrawl on his face.
• "Thanks Walker" "Your welcome Scott" is the dialog that went on between Scott and his buddy Walker Friday when they decided to share a toy... too cute!
• "WHISTLE WHISTLE!!" I put it in caps because Scott literally screams it in a shrill voice when he is really really mad at me. I have no clue where he got that word from except that his aunt Bre brought him one last time she came to visit.
• After trying to fit a toy in the side of Scott's pants he said, "buy some pockets for my pants"

I get them both napping at the same time and then I can't take one because the sheetrockers are so noisy! I did manage to take a few pictures though...It's like I don't even know what to do with free time since I haven't gotten much since Hailey was born!

Here's our girl...5 weeks now!

Finally I got this on video! Scott loves playing with his blocks and he has 2 lego people that he always puts in the lego car, etc. Well one day back in September he was talking all about Carson and Lana (his uncle and aunt on Kevin's side). I asked him "who?" and he showed me his blocks and said they were Carson and Lana. It has been really funny to watch him talk about Carson and Lana as they drive or sit on towers, even funnier since it has been months and still if you ask him what their names are, it never changes!

Busy Busy

Last week was pretty busy! Scott decided (again and for final I hope) that he wants to be done with diapers, so we are in the potty training process. It's going pretty well and he even told the teacher in nursery that he had to go and she took him. He is really proud of himself. Hopefully it will continue on! Also on the nursery note-I'm sure Scott has been learning all sorts of stuff at nursery, but we got a glimpse of it yesterday. Every Sunday he likes to look at all of his church books (this is honestly his idea) and when he was looking at one with pictures of Jesus he told me that Jesus is an example. So cute! And sorry to say but Kevin and I have been waiting for the day for someone else to trade off giving prayers at the dinner table and the day has come! Today I said, "Should mom say the prayer?" and he said, "no, me." He's on two days in a row and he insists on saying them (repeating after one of us of course). It is sooo cute! Also we finally got our basement sheetrocked and it is getting taped and textured this week. We are so excited we can hardly stand it!

Every time I put Hailey under this mobile Scott squeezes in too. She usually ends up smooshed in the corner.Kevin is honestly worried about Scott's love for this kitchen. He says, "well maybe he'll be a chef" I had to explain to him that kitchen utensils are just like tools and that's why he loves it so much. Don't worry daddy-your son still loves his trucks!
This is Scott licking the cookie dough right before he had his first chocolate chip cookie (because of his allergies I usually just leave the chips out). I finally found a dairy free chocolate chip cookie mix and boy does he love them!
Hailey is growing like a weed! It's really fun to compare her to Scott's pictures at 1 month. Can you believe she's already a month old?
I agree Hailey-Kevin is pretty comfy to snuggle with!
