Kevin and the kids have been making requests for no-bake cookies a lot lately. (click here for recipe on my cooking blog) Scott and Hailey actually like them better than any other cookie. Yes, they are in their jammies too- it was a late request right before bedtime!

Before ...5 cookies after...

Kevin doesn't think Hailey has cues to tell her she's full. She ate twice the amount of dinner Scott did, and we had to literally pull her away from the cookies after she inhaled 5 of them!

We finally bought Scott a new bed and dresser. Well, new to him- we would NEVER buy new furniture for this kid because he is way hard on things. Anyways it has 4 drawers and this super cool cubby to hide things in!

Ever since I saw the border in my mother in-laws guest room I've wanted to do it for Scott's room because he has a camping theme. They look like painted/stenciled moose, bear, and tree decals, but they are actually individual wallpaper cutouts. I found them on this website and when I got there they were 50% off! I paid $10 for 50 of these, and spent all night Friday putting them on. They each had to soak in water for 1 minute and I ended up doing 46 all the way around his room.

It turned out so cute and Scott loves them!

I guess I haven't mentioned this yet, but I started watching 2 boys every morning. One is 2 weeks younger than Scott and the other is a year old. So....from 8 until 1:30 in the afternoon I am a mom of 4! It's been pretty hectic, but really fun.

Scott's new favorite thing to do at the park is the monkey bars. He can do 2-3 by himself with me ready to catch him when his arms get tired.

We've been going to the pool a few times a week. I have to take advantage because next year I will have to pay for Scott. The kids love it

One night we packed up a picnic dinner and brought Daddy along with us

I had to take a picture of this huge slide. This year Scott is finally tall enough to ride by himself, but the lifeguards make him double check the mark every time because he's so young. And of course proof in video.

Hailey has been having so much fun bathing with this doll. She had to wrap her up after the bath and carry her around too. Notice who has on the big towel and who has to wear the tiny bathrobe! Anyways as she was packing her around she was patting her back very softly. Little girls are such mommies- so adorable!
So what do you do on a Saturday when your yard still isn't finished to play in, dad has to work all day and you have 2 bored kids? Take a field trip on the city bus! Kevin informed me that our city bus is free to take anywhere in town, and ever since I've been wanting to take the kids just for fun. Scott was soooooo excited! Even before we got home he was begging to do it again sometime.

We sat in the back so that we were high enough to see everything, and we drove to the transit center to show Scott all of the bus stops. It's a lot like a train station. The sweet bus driver told us he'd be back in an hour to pick us up, so we walked over to Jamba Juice and drank smoothies and ate a lunch a packed in my purse. Scott even got to pull the cord for our stop on the way home. Too much fun!

Hailey threw her toothpaste in the toilet last Sunday. I was doing her hair in the sink and I saw her throw it in there, but we were late for church so I figured I would get it when we got back. Well late Sunday afternoon Scott informed Kevin that the toilet wouldn't flush and so Kevin plunged it. That's when it dawned on me that I never got the toothpaste out. I seriously wasn't even going to tell Kevin because I knew he would be mad, but then the toilet was making funny noises and I started worrying that it could get stuck in the basement pipes and end up costing a pretty penny so I told him what happened. Of course he was mad I didn't just get the toothpaste out, but I informed him that I have saved 100 different items from getting flushed down the toilet, so give me a break. It's a good thing Kevin is a jack of all trades! Scott kept saying, "We really should call a plumber, and he'll get it right out." I asked him how much he thought a plumber would cost and he said "a hundred dollars." (I'm guessing a little more than that) Well sure enough there was the toothpaste stuck at the very bottom of the toilet- phew!

4th of July Weekend!

For Christmas this past year, my parents didn't want any presents, instead they wanted a "vacation package" to each of our hometowns. We choose for them to spend 4th of July with us checking out classic cars and watching small town parades. We have one of the biggest car shows on the west coast right here in our town. More than 30,000 people come from all over to check out these 1000 prestigious cars!

After the car show we headed to the next town over to catch a small town (but lots of people) parade. An hour of sirens, candy throwing and water spraying.

We ran home quick and packed up a picnic to eat while we waited for it to start

Every time a firetruck or any float came by spraying water, Scott would hide behind me! What a stinker! He would yell "Throw candy over here" at every float. Needless to say we ended up with way too much candy!

Cache Valley does fireworks the night before, and no traditional parade on the 4th of July all because of these classic cars. On the night of the 4th of July they have a "Cruisin Parade" where all the cars from the car show drag main street for about an hour. Once it gets going there ends up being 4 lanes of beautiful classic cars. It is soooo awesome! To me there is a huge patriotic feel when 30,000 people get together to listen to all these cars roar it up- so cool!

My parents were laughing because people had their chairs and blankets out Friday and the car parade wasn't until Saturday night.

Every time a car with a loaded engine would cruise by, Kevin would yell, "Rev it up!" and pretty much every time we would here the engine scream. Pretty soon, Scott along with all the older boys sitting next to us were yelling "Rev it up!" to every car cruisin by. It was pretty funny.

After the car parade we came back home for some small fireworks

Hailey was really scared with the fireworks, so Grandpa took her inside to watch through the window. Hailey adores her grandpa! (She loves grandma too, but she's just a daddy's girl type) :)

After the kids went to bed my mom made carmel popcorn and we watched a movie. We had such an awesome weekend! Thanks mom and dad for coming to vacation with us!

Spoiled by daddy! Hailey has been wanting one of these trikes (she sees them at stores and cries) for about 6 months now, but she was obviously too small. The problem about waiting for her birthday is that it will be in the dead of winter! So we were at the store and Kevin said that he was getting one for her. She of course took it for a test drive in the store and then she wouldn't get off it and was throwing a fit, so we picked her up on the trike and set her in the cart. Everyone who saw her riding the trike inside the shopping cart couldn't help but laugh.

Monday was a crazy busy day, and the kids were super grumpy! We had planned all day to go hiking for family home evening and debated after the long and exhausting day whether to go or not. Well around 6 or so we decided just to do it. We hiked the stokes nature trail and had such a great time. The weather and scenery was beautiful, and it turned the day right around. I had some pictures from last May when we hiked this trail and just couldn't resist adding them too.

Hailey has been so sweet lately carrying her little baby around everywhere saying "baby". She puts her in the doll stroller and strolls her around, has to eat every meal side by side with her,

and of course, lots of kisses. So sweet.
