Hailey is Here!

Our little Hailey Riggs was born on Friday! I was having contractions all Thursday and Friday night like 10 minutes apart consistently for hours, but they stopped as soon as morning hit. So I went in for a checkup on Friday and she told me I was in labor and dilated to a 4. We checked into the hospital at 11:00 am and she was born at 11:22 pm that night. We were hoping it would happen before midnight because we wanted it to be on the 7th of '07 (easy to remember). Plus Scott's birthday is the 17th. We knew the whole time we were expecting that she would be born at night because that was when she was most active. Luckily my doctor was on call and she delivered 3 VBACs that same night (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) We are so blessed and lucky to have another healthy baby! Here are just a few pics to get everyone started... of course there will be plenty more!

Here she is! 7 lbs 3 oz, 20 inches long and not very happy!

Proud big brother! Scott has been preparing and been so excited for the day to meet her. In fact he told her that morning, "come out soon" "ready to play". When grandma put him to bed the night we had Hailey, he of course was going to fight it but as soon as she told him they would come see his baby sister in the morning he went right to sleep. That next morning he wanted to pick out a present under the tree to bring her and held onto it the whole way. We he came to the hospital Hailey was laying on dad and I asked "who is that?" He said, "Baby Girl" and then I said "What's her name?" and he said, "Hailey." He loves to hold her and give her kisses. He's fascinated with her little fingers.

Grandma already can't resist sticking those pretty bows on her new granddaughter.
